How much?
I mean...she wants to know, how much.
Are you seriously asking, or just kidding? After all, don't you have three of their amps already? :) You're packing some serious power with those amps that you won (two XPA-1s, right?), and the soon-to-arrive MPS-1 is no slouch.

If I were to try to sell it, the number that's in my head is $700 + shipping. The thing is mint, and I have all of the original packaging. I go between wanting to be rid of it, and just taking it apart to look. The hum, which bothers me but my parents didn't notice, is the only negative. The thing really is built solid and looks nice, too.

Sorry Adam, didn't mean to get your hopes up.
I forgot to add a ":D"
We won an XPA-2. and already have an MPS-1

I'll bet you find out what's vibrating if you opened the hood.
Did you say it vibrated even when nothing was plugged into it?

You and your lack of a smiley!

:D :D Nah, you didn't get my hopes up, so no worries, Rick.

Yep. I tried different outlets (in different room), using a power conditioner and not using it, and different power cords. Same deal - still hums.

I assume you're using the Pioneer as the pre-amp.
No change when you unplugged the outputs from the 1015TX?

I've often wondered if one of the toroidal transformers is loose; since they're held down by one center bolt?
That's another project, save it for when you are done with your garage door opener.:D

Thanks, Rick. I can't say anymore if there's a change, but the hum exists without any connections except for the power cord. The first thing that I tried back in 1997 was to disconnect everything. More recently when I got my new carpet, I had the IPS-1 in a different room. I tried three different power cords (two from Emotiva, one from a computer - all different wire gauges) with no noticeable difference.

The only response that I ever got from Lonnie regarding the hum was that it was probably caused by having it plugged into the power conditioner and not into the wall. That was not it.

Maybe I will take it apart. Not today, as you mentioned - garage door opener comes first. :)
