Powered Zone 2 on the Onkyo TX-SR805
I'm looking to have a separate zone in the kitchen, effectively having two pairs of fronts. Mostly to be able to play music through the whole house.
It started as an idea that got into my head when I saw "powered zone 2" as a feature of the 805, which I was looking at anyway. I've got a pair of Klipsch SS.5's that I upgraded that I thought I could wire in the kitchen without having to buy anything in addition to the 805.
I also started thinking about the possibility of outdoor speakers for the deck. Not that this is happening anytime soon, since I live in Albany, NY.
My main goal is movies though, and I don't want to give up my 7.1, even if it's really 5.1 most of the time.
Sounds like my best option may be to get the 805, and an exteral amp or two for the other zones. When I'm serious about this, I'm sure I'll be asking all about amps!
As always, thank you to everyone for the feedback. I'm new to this audio world, and am having a blast reading and learning and listening.
