Monster Cable should be fine. They put out a product that costs next to nothing to make, and charge an arm and a leg for it. They probably are swimming in money, unless they have unwisely invested their profits.
Youd think the same with Bose...
The fact is, people arent spending as much money as they used to. More and more people are relising that for the money, a Sony HTIB is very similar sounding to a Bose, and costs many times less. Even the rich people that just pay for the name arent as rich as they used to be, and are turning to other brands.
If I were Bose, Id do some restructuring by making the lifestyle line alot cheaper to compete with sony, rca, panasonic, durabrand, etc... I bet the Bose would sell like hotcakes if the prices werent far off from competitors. They also need to update the current line of stereo separates and introduce a new flagship (or update the 901). I mean, they have been selling the same old BS for years and not a thing has changed except for the times and the competition.
Like Ive said before, Bose needs a modern 901. They need something new that will make people stop for a second and go "hey, thats different and kinda cool".
They should also stop trying to make everything so damn small on their higher end stuff. I swear the Lifestyle 38 system sounded better than the 48, even though the 38 is a grand cheaper (the cubes are smaller on the 48). IMO, there comes a point where it gets so small that the size vs. performance ratio is not worth it. The smaller cubes should be marketed for the masses and the rest of the lineup needs an update. Just my opinion.
