I'm sure all will be okay!
I've never had that done (yet?) but did have to get a barium test for an ulcer years ago. Had to drink a pitcher of this stuff that tasted like plaster. After word made it half way home!!! Luckly was near a friends place and flew into the drive way and pounded on his door, he opened and I just ran straight to the bathroom. Then spent the rest of the day in my bathroom.

Me thinks that the two have about the same effect. :)
Sorry my friend, it's not quite the same. I had the procedure about a month ago and the prep goes far beyond what some of bran will do.

Phil, the worst is over. Good luck with the results.

I have had an upper and lower GI down myself. I have also had an endoscope down as well. This will be my 2nd colon scope. Getting ready to leave and go have it done. Be glad when it is over. Anyways, thanks for giving me a laugh this morning. This kinda helps calm me down a bit as my anxiety is rather high right now.

Cheers,

Phil

Dave, I sure hope you are correct. Last night was rough. It seemed as though I had much more pain in my lower stomach this go around. Just glad that part is over. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well folks I am home now. It went well. In fact, the doc found no polyps whatsoever. Unfortunately, I do have a fatty tumor that needs further investigation. Now, I have to have a CT scan with contrast on Thursday morning. No big deal on that, but have to drink (2) bottles of the contrast-YUK! Oh well, it could be worse I suppose. Just wanted to thank all of you that offered me their support and prayers alike. I just wished you all knew how it makes me feel on the inside. Kudos to all of you!

Cheers,

Phil

That stuff goes down really easy when mixed with a little, or a lot of Vodka.:)

Glad to hear things went well today.

Nomo, wished I could drink some alcohol, but take way too many meds. However, hope to change that in the future as I am back on my diet. Last time I did that I lost over 90 lbs. My goal is to do better this time. If I do, then some of meds can be dropped altogether. Appreciate your support my friend.

Cheers,

Phil

I had one about three months ago. I work in a hopsital and am friends with the guy who did my procedure. I also installed two of his HT systems and right before the procedure, I groggily said to him, "You know doc, installing your systems, I got to lay alot of cable, looks like today you get to return the favor." :D

The worst part was the drinking of that stuff to clean you out. Must say i have never felt cleaner in my life. Although my GF told the doctor that he should prescribe that stuff daily, cause I'm so full of Shyt.

Anyway glad the procedure went well and hope everything checks it.

Glad the first part went OK....so what's with this stuff? You trying to stimulate the entire medical profession all on your own? Tell ya what....I'm going to do my part so you can slow it up a little. I've got to hit the CT machine tomorrow AM and drink the bug juice instead of coffee so I'm pitching in the best I can;) It may take me some time to catch up, but I passed my last physical in 1968 with flying colors and thought things were OK since nobody said otherwise.

Hi Mort. So, if you don 't mind me asking do you have to drink (2) bottles of that barium stuff? I have one in vanilla and the other in berry flavor to drink. Just curious is all. Hope everything turns out ok for you. Will keep you in my prayers.

Cheers,

Phil

Mmmmmm, this stuff is finger lickin' awful!!! Just chugging my last jug of gastrografin & lemonade before heading down to get nuked. Had to drink one, three hours prior and the second an hour before. Actually, not that bad. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

I had my CT scan first before the Colonoscopy (my friend the Dr wanted me to go through the tame stuff first to rule anything out) anyway I had to drink that vanilla stuff every 10 minutes for 2 hours prior to the procedure in small full shot glass doses. I recall that the vanilla tasted just like thick soapy water and having to gag that stuff down every 10 minutes for 2 hours was the worst. I recall telling the tech leading me down the hall that I now know what Satan was serving from his personal tap down in hades. Just awful tatsing stuff. Luckily a nurse I knew gave me a package of Tic-tacs, so after every gulp I would pop a couple tic tacs in my mouth. Everything came up negative in my case but I still have my issues, so I learn to cope but thanks for asking.
