Yesterday I found out that Panasonic is discontinuing its blu-ray bd-35. I have read so many positive reviews on this item. I cannot find it in any local stores. Does anyone know if Panasonic is replacing this blu-ray with anoter model? I want to buy a blu-ray. I received the Yamaha yht-590 as a gift for Christmas and wanted to connect the blu-ray, htib, and my 46" tv all at the same time. Thanks

Have you tried on line yet? Amazon has it but right now it is priced above original retail at $339:eek:

The BD-30 had a similar cycle - very short and then when it became discontinued, the price was higher than retail on Amazon. Interesting, I wonder why the super short product life cycles? There can't be that many features they are changing? Perhaps cost reduction and/or different OEM components inside?

Costco has them for $229, assuming you have a membership. That's about the only place that has them in stock, and I don't think that is going to last for long. You'll have to wait until late Feb/March before you can get a Panasonic BRP. Maybe it'll stream Netflix, which would be pretty dog-gone neat. Who know what they will build for the BD-40 or whatever they are going to call it.

Better error correction, faster load times, better upconversion, and Netflix streaming. I'd pay $400 for that.

What about the 55? I wanted that for the 7ch analog with the decoder because my receiver only does dolby digital and dts. Are they still making this, I just didn't want to pay the 3xx for it.

Let's see how fast they can get them to market. The BD-35 and BD-55 were delayed for a few months. They'll lose sales if they have nothing in inventory now.

Those players have been the hottest ticket going.
It would be pretty stupid of them to lose momentum at this point by a delay.
