I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING!

His pretty Ultras made me jealous so I went ahead and and ordered my granite top for my new sub. Look for new pictures in my sub thread on Monday.
You have already said too much. Time to pay...

They are purdy... heck, if I ever need less output....I might just get some:eek:
Glad your "Ultra crusher" is makin' you happy! BTW, the duals will give me 116 dB, with room to spare, at the listening positon (5500 cu ft.). That's as loud as I dare do, as I am affraid my house might collapse...:D My neighbors don't like it either.:)

That's good output, no doubt the Ultras are great.

I have hit 110db at listening positon in my 8,000 cubic ft room and I don't think I am pushing it at all. I was scared earlier because I had a rattle that stopped when I weighted the sub and I didn't want to push it any harder. The rattle turned out to be my DLP and I guess when I weighted the sub it decoupled that wave and stopped the rattle. I would say my woofer is moving around half its excursion when I hit 110dbs.

Have you tried putting one of the Ultras behind the recliner?

I would interested to see what changes it would make in the room response.

I can't destroy the stack!!! It would affect my mojo...:D
The reason I ask is that by placing your subwoofers in opposing positions within the room, you are far more likely to acquire a flatter and more coherent frequency response through out the room.

Here is some reading material if you or anyone else wish to learn more about ideal subwoofer placement and the potential advantages of multiple subwoofers.

Harman International Subwoofer Placement White Paper

If this is all too much for you, jump to page 27-30 for a summary\conclusion!!!!

As the movie goes, your mojo was always inside you!!!!

Ummm...yes...let's see. Howza bout one 5.1 amp
@ 250+ wpc and, a PB-13 Plus (or two)? Those would be my first attempts at room treatments...:) Plus a six of Guiness stout.
So I'm close to getting the Emo XPA-3 (200 w/c) for the L/C/R. Dual Ultras plus dual Guiness stouts make a super combination! Getting closer!!!:D

Very nice there Greg. Is the wife okay with it??? I'm still feeling the repercussions from the second Ultra.:D

It was her idea. She was still upset that I was going to sell it so this was the compromise. One is moving to the back and one will stay in the front once I get a SMS-1.

Do you use any type of bass management control?

Your wife did not want the Servo to go???? Wow man, now that's a great wife. :)

I'm only using the PEQ right now, and I'm pretty pleased with the results.
