He he, it's hard to make more of a statement than saying: "Hey, I've got stacked PB13-Ultra's at home :D"
At least you didn't say I was compensating for something....:D

:eek:Wow now thats impressive, I think I went half deaf just looking at those dual Ultras :D
Thanks TheFactor! Honestly, I don't liten to them very loud too often, only on occasion. It's amazing what the second Ultra has done to decrease the effort to get some output. The extra headroom really helps cut down on chuffing and port noises.

Thanks Phil! Man the duals have really impressed me with the new True HD/DTS MA sound tracks. Watched Iron Man again this afternoon. Just plain awesome. I feel like sticking the sonic boom in a loop to really shake things, but I think my wife would leave me...:p
Your quite welcome croseiv. Iron Man is a great movie. Anyways, your set-up is sweet pal. However, I respect you for keeping the wife happy. It sounds like she is pretty cool given you have (2) Ultras. ;);) Keep up the good work my friend. You are a very lucky guy. :):)

Cheers,

Phil

I bet you are! My ex-wife used to nag me all the time over every little thing I bought audio wise. Suffice it to say, that is why she is my ex-wife! :D:D Sounds like you have a keeper. I am very happy for you both my friend. :):)

Cheers,

Phil

She used to nag me a lot more, but not as much lately. I guess she's finally figured it's pointless...

Simple movie rack

Had a little spare time this afternoon and threw together a little BD/DVD/CD rack to give me a little more room and get rid of some clutter. :)

Nice job looks great !!!
Thanks very much! I'll be the first to admit that it looks rather crude, but it's functional, and it suits my needs well. Stitch there jiggles when the bass is good and strong. :p I only have have 5 BDs so far. It will be a slow process collecting them.

Duals Ultras 15 Hz

I really like the tuning capablity of the subs. Been listening to some organ music, and this mode sounds great.:)

First attempt at treatments

I made a couple of absorbant panels this morning using egg crate and cardboard. THe whole project only took a couple of hours, including the painting. The color of the panels is dark brown. Was surprised at the sonic result from just these two panels! The sound was pulled forward and is more defined upfront. My guess is there's less high frequency scatter. :)

I love the stack.:D:D

One of the guys I work with just came in and saw me looking and he was drooling at your setup. Nice job.

Man, those are awesome!

I'm highly impressed by the ingenuity. And the TV, and the Ultras, and the furniture... :D

Thanks to both of you! So, there really is an improvement with the panels. Dialog is much clearer, and it seems like better front stage/channel separation. I removed the panels and listened, and then I put them back. The reflections from the rear area behind the mains are pronounced without the panels, and seem obviously more shrill/tinny. That back wall is quite reflective. Dang! :)

I am surprized that egg crates and cardboard can really tame the correct frequencies.

Yeah, me too. But I can certainly discern a difference for the better. It was more of a "let's try this and see what happens" experiment.

Neither Adam or Alex will allow me to talk about acoustic panels so I will have to leave it at that.;)

BTW, you must have one cool wife, you have turned her livingroom into YOUR HT room.
