I've never heard that about ML. I doubt its true. Some vendors like Amazon are authorized vendors for EVERYTHING they sell directly. And they sell ML as well.

As for individual pricing, I think that's a great thing. That means that folks can get 3 of them for the front stage if they were so lucky to be able to accommodate that. (Don't have to buy 2 pairs and figure out what to do with the spare).

I see that you are correct. I swear that last time I was shopping for speakers, ML was only selling through authorized dealers, not online, and would only warranty to the original purchaser. Either they updated their business model or I was just plain out to lunch.

One thing I have noticed, when I liked the ML Preface, priced in the store $1250.00 I looked later and found them on-line for about $700.00? Is this normal?

I'd like to spend my money local, but on such a skimpy budget, I can't afford to give it away. I feel like a creep shopping in these stores, asking the staff for assistance, knowing full well I'm going to check the price on-line, and buy there if it's found cheaper...

If you do find a good deal on line, be honest with the dealer, and try and work something out. He has after all rendered a service.

Yes, he was right, I hadn't noticed they were priced PER PAIR. The ML and B&W appear to be priced about the same on-line v.s. in stores. I feel a little stupid about not noticing the price I was looking at was only for one speaker... Duh!

Other brands, I have found, are not. I was quoted a price for a pair of Monitor Audio RS6 $1100.00 in writing. I went on line, and found them for less...

No kidding. I'm over in Windsor and it's just as bad over here. We are still very dependent on Detroit's automotive industry.

Who is your dealer? I just did a quick Google... I'm not sure what I'm going to buy yet, I still have more I'd like to listen to...

But I'll keep the dealer, and price in mind.
