Uggg, my stomach hurts. Bad. I feel like I'm about to star in the next installment of Aliens.

Aliens 5 - Audioholics. "This time, they rock."

Remember the scene in Aliens when Paul Reiser's character gets it? I'm envisioning a scene where N. Lee gets what's coming to him.

Oh, man. This is not pleasant.

Everybody has said that paint goes FIRST. That makes sense to me because then I won't be as panicked about spilling paint on the new floor.

I sure hope the carpet folks don't jack up my walls.
If you can use 'jack up' as a euphemism for 'F up',
can we call 'Jack Hammer' 'F Hammer'? :D
The ultimate porn name. :)

I hope your walls make it too. With any luck, you will only need to do some touch up. Just don't drink when you paint over the finished floor or drink extra, which ever feels right.

I think primer and one coat should go first. Then it's easy to spot prime with the paint (where needed) and apply the second coat after they are all done. Those rolls of carpet are big, heavy and don't bend easily. I would remove the doors if they are doing bedrooms. ;)

Good advice, Alex. My plan is to move everything that is even remotely delicate far away from where the installers will be. That said, they better be able to handle the carpet. This stuff cost enough that if they jack (ahem, f) anything up, I'll be calling the store right away.

On a related note, this carpet has a 120-day "beautiful" guarantee. It means that if I change my mind, for whatever reason, then they'll replace it for free. If I decide that I like a different color better - they'll replace it. Not the style that I want? Replaced. They'll only do it once for free, but it's a nice touch.

Hey

Looks like Adam soon will be more boring than I am. he's up to 373 posts in this thread while I'm at 454, so if you keep up this you'll soon be having black belt in "being boring"......

I can't be so boring now, because I'm working on the house all the time.... no time to post much....

But if I get the hang for it, I will quote something from a book called "elements of petroleum geology" I was left unconscious by boredness by reading three pages... It's beyond me that it's possible to write such a boring uninteresting book, so look out....

If you really want your head to spin try reading Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man by Marshall McLuhan. I had to read it in a college broadcasting course and I swear I would get a few paragraphs in at a time and had to rest my brain as my head was literally spinning. Deep stuff from the man who was light years ahead of his time.

Thanks Phil

b.t.w. It looks like we may have issues getting to 2000 posts before X-mas, ny early estimates based on simple analysis suggested this thread would be crossing the 2000 posts target around that timeframe

Hey guys, we need to keep the pressure up to reach our milestones

And I'm no better this is the only boring post from me today, hey... it's my only post around here..... way too busy now

-Harald

In a few days I will be gone till maybe a week after Christmas because I'm moving. I'm going to take pics of the setup I'm doing though. Travelling to see some family for Christmas and then moving in before the New Year.

Right now I'm packing up this place. Very boring. Plus I keep getting distracted.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Make sure you take some pics of all this work you are doing also!

I think our hard work will be worth it in the end! I'm tired of living in a flop apartment haha.

I installed a new Dishnet 1000.2 dish outside my apartment today in prep for my new HD receiver arriving tomorrow (hopefully). Gonna do the 211 w/external USB hard drive DVR setup. It was fairly boring...
