Glad to hear they're gonna fix it. The scratches themselves are actually a simple fix, it's just matching the color that is tricky, if its not perfect it is easily spotted. A flooring guy should be able to match it up an fix it fairly quickly. In the mean time, I hope you put something over the screw or removed it to prevent further damage.

As long as we're laying claim to your belongings, that couch would look great in my place.:D

you'd be included in the wife hitlist if you tried to go for the couch.

Darn I missed the entertainment for the day. Power went out so I have not had internet for a few hours.

Greg I am suprised you gave it up so quick. See you should have had a drink to calm and think about it and you would have come up with the solution that it had to be someone elses fault.;)

I guess in the end all is good. The wife's not mad and you don't have to fix it.:D

Oh and I like the couch too.:)

Happy to hear the floor is getting fixed. Great couch! I have one like it but leather. I should have gone cloth. Mine is cold and takes about 5 min to actually get comfortable. Good choice.

Seriously, I have no life.
Ok, I called her and told her about the scratch. She said "can you fix it", I said "yup".

I am about to give it a shot. The floor guy said to use PolyShade for a quick fix.

The area rug will actuall cover the spot but we remove it a lot to clean.
Which PolyShade? Did he tell you the color? It looks like it isn't a strong stain, if at all. MinWax makes good products and they're easy to use. The instructions on the can work well. Use a sanding block with 120 grit, then skip to 180.

Whew! I missed the drama and got to read the happy ending. That's great news, Greg!

BTW, love the couch. Very nice looking, and I'll bet it's comfy.

Well now you probably won't want to recalibrate the 3808 until they fix the floor. I am doing the 1909 this weekend. Then I am selling my snowmobile and my pickup so I can buy your Servo ;).

P.S. Nice couch, except for the stock feet of course.

Well it sounds like you already have it sorted out, but I thought I would throw in my 2 cents for others/future reference.

I used to work at a custom cabinet factory, and what we would use to fix small dings were these special wood repair crayons. You would just try to match the color of the wood as close as possible and rub it over the ding. It usually came out decent. We wouldn't try something as large as your scratches appear, but for home use it might be worth a try. They were something like these:

edit: We had a better selection of colors then that link though.

You may as well grab the CC-590 as well, Matt. Timbre matching and all that...

Our new couch just got delivered, I forgot to get the felt pads to place under the feet to protect the hardwoods so they just carefully set it close to where I thought it should go. I knew I should have went and got the pads before I tried to move the couch but like an idiot I slide it around without them. One place has a very bad scratch down into the wood and she will kill me if she sees this. Is there a quick way to hide this? The floors are oak.

HELP!
Just skimming the thread it sounds like the furniature company is sending a pro to fix your oak floor scratch, which is great.

I would recommend you watch the pro fix the floor and see if he will identify the materials and where to buy them so you can fix future scratches.

For future reverence if you don't get tips from the pro, your floor photo looks to be about the same color I stained my oak floors. It was about 20 years ago, but Minwax "Golden Oak" stain would probably do the trick if it is still around. You can apply light coats until the color matches. You could touch up the topcoat with whatever your floors are finished in (i.e. polyurethane, etc. - tip-ask the pro what the floors are finished in).
