Help please-No Dolby Digital only pcm pro logic from HDMI

Hi group.
I have a Mitsubishi WD-65C8 DLP, and I recently had the main board replaced. I have my cable tv, dvd, and ps3 hooked up to the TV via HDMI, and I have a digital coax cable running from the digital output of the tv into the stereo receiver. Before the main-board was replaced my stereo receiver would received a dolby digital signal from the tv while watching a dvd or ps3 source, but since it only receives pcm pro logic signal.
I've checked all of the settings within the tv and I don't see anything that regulates the digital output. And when I plug directly into the dvd player i receive a dolby digital signal, so I'm assuming the cause is not the DVD/PS3/Cable sources that are the problem...and I remember that before I replaced the main-board the dolby digital relayed fine. Are there any other (advanced) settings that regulate the digital output of the tv?

ANY advise is greatly appreciated. :)

I don't know anything about your TV, but I am sure when the board was replaced, it was reset to default settings. The "keyword" you need to look for in your TV menus is "pass-through." It should allow digital audio pass-through to your receiver, and it has to be in your TV menu somewhere if it worked before, unless the new board has a different firmware that took features away, which is doubtful.

It isn't much to go on, but I hope that helps:D!

thanks strube but I don't see any pass-through settings or any that changes output settings. The new board has the same menus and options as far as i can tell. The guy that installed the board had to return after doing research to adjust the white balance I believe because my colors were blotchy, and he did this in some advanced menu but he had no idea why the audio would be different. I'm wondering if there are audio settings in some advanced setup menu of the tv...would anyone know anything about this?

You need to set you TV to output bit stream and not PCM. That is your problem. There has to be a menu option for that. I don't think you will find a pass through setting on a TV and even if you did that is not your problem. You must have it output bit stream.

Sorry for the somewhat uninformed recommendation. Passthough is more for AVRs.

Hope you get it figured out:)

That's what I've been looking for, but I can't seem to find audio such options in the tv menus. Here's all I have.

well I can't post an image of my menus, our post count is too low... so I'll try to describe.
Here's what I have...

Speakers The Speakers option displays only if an A/V receiver connection has been detected.
TV Turns on the internal TV speakers.
AV Receiver Turns off the TV speakers so you hear sound only from a connected A/V receiver.

Bass Controls volume of low-pitched sound from the TV speakers.

Treble Controls volume of high-pitched sound from the TV speakers.

Balance Controls audio balance between the right and left TV speakers

Sound Mode Normal No special audio effects from the TV speakers (default)
Expand Modifies audio from the TV speakers.
• For monaural (non-stereo) programs, creates a simulated stereo effect.
• For stereo programs, creates a simulated surround sound effect.

Listen To
Available for
analog channels
from
ANT1/ANT2
only
Stereo Default setting. The TV plays stereo broadcasts in stereo and mono broadcasts in
mono. The word Stereo is displayed when you tune to a channel broadcasting in
stereo.
Mono Reduces background noise. Use when receiving a weak stereo audio signal. All
audio is played as mono with this setting.
SAP
(Second
Audio
Program)
Selects an additional monaural sound track not audible during normal TV viewing.
The SAP signal might be related to the program (such as a sound track in a foreign
language), or it might be unrelated (such as a weather report). If an SAP signal is
broadcast, the letters SAP are displayed when you tune to the channel

Language English
French
German
Italian
Portuguese
Spanish
Other
Selects the current language for a digital program from ANT1 or ANT2. Each
digital program may include zero to seven language choices.
Available for digital channels from ANT1/ANT2 only

Level Sound On, Off Reduces differences in sound volume between programming segments, such as
the difference between regular broadcast programs and commercial segments

These are all the audio options that I have access to.
But I also know that mitsubishi locks out some of their more advanced features, and you have to know the code to access them...I've seen some video features accessed this way but I'm not sure about any audio features.

No luck, I got into the service menu and can't make sense of anything in there, seems coded...so I left it alone so i don't mess up anything. Looks like I'll be stuck with good ole pro logic coming from the tv.

Call for the installer to come back and fix the situation:)
yeah, I asked him when he was there and he had no idea...it took him 2 days to figure out how to adjust the white balance, and he didn't even notice that it needed to be done. took me about 5 minutes of persistence before he would even admit the picture wasn't right.
Maybe I'll try calling Mitsubishi Support.
