Here is my first proper system, saved up alot of mulla for this. Let me know what you guys think, and please comment on the layout, let me know if i can make it better. Its a 7.1 system. just got a 15" velodyne sub from future shop, its a monsta, 1000 watts peak and 600 watts rms. its the best i could do in my budget. I got the TV from the source (the canadian circuit city) which is where i work and the 4 polk monitors 70's i got from usa via ebay. the polk rtis were from futureshop and the onkyo 806 was from 2001 audio video. got a great deal on the onkyo, they had it for 1300 CAD and i got a open box for $700. I have a new polk center on the way, got it from ebay. rite now i have my old hk center.

Welcome! The second young new member posing a system in 24 hours. Great.

My only suggestion is to get your mains a little further apart if you can.

Ok, I am getting worried. We have had an 18y/o, a 19y/o and now a 20y/o posting pictures of set-ups the past couple of days. This "sport" is for us old farts who are tired. You guys should be out chasing girls and booze......

Nice set up!

i got time for both lol so dont worry. acctually im trying to cut down on the drinkin. we were on a few weekends ago drinkin and tryin to find some girls. i woke up the next morning in a hospital bed with half a dozen tubes stuck in me. the doctor told me im liver is already having problems. he told me to cut down to 10 drinks a night instead of the usual 25+. as for the girls i actually dont have to chase because i already have a gf.

i think its funny how both this guy and the 19 year old both picked up speakers from the polk monitor line, the only reason i find it funny is because those are the speakers i almost bought so we all would have had the same speakers

Awesome setup! I almost went with the Monitor-70's myself, but had to keep the budget down unfortunately to the 50's :(

You've got a system that should keep your ears happy for a loooong time :)

Where in Canada are you from?

Mike,

You should rename Pdawgs thread to "The member with the worst screen name in the history of forums.... system".

It's got a ring to it.

LOL!
Irrelevant to topic at hand... but I'm nearing 22 and all the crap in my signature is stuff I've picked up over some years.
I try not to get too involved; but when the opprotunity exists to get a better piece of equipment, I'll jump right on it!

Congratulations!!!!

I wish I had had a system like yours when I was your age.

Girlfriends come and go but a good audio\video system is a loyal companion for many years to come.

My only suggestion would be to start saving up for a larger center channel. It is the most important speaker when it comes to home theater and will really make a huge difference in performance.

Keep us posted on your progess and I think I can safely say that we all hope you stick around to tell us old folk more war stories of the younger generation.

Living vicarously through younger audioholics.
