Once again, Brian Wilson comes back, with a new CD "That Lucky Old Sun". A strange CD, some parts pretty good, but he put in these 40 second narratives between songs that are so cloyingly nostalgic..."...it's 1962 again, hot rods, the beach, babes...". It's well produced with an excellent band and vocal accompaniment.

This CD has some songs that remind you of the Pet Sounds/Smile era and some amazingly fine vocal harmonies, but it's also hard to listen to because it feels like it might be his last utterance and it just wallows in the distant past. In the last song where he sings about wishing he could sing one more with his brothers, it's quite sad. I don't know what to make of it but the songs keep rattling through my head, so I guess it's worth something.

Oh my GOD!!!I just put in Rage Against The Machine's first record....The sound is Stunning on this disc, Everything is right in your face no effects no reverb on the vocals nothing...I had it turned up to zero on my Denon and it made me jump but stupid clean and fat as hell. I would give this one a listen if you have never heard it..It is smoking:D:D:D
Yeah, that CD has a very pleasant mix to it. Couple songs I really like.

Alexisonfire - You Burn First.

People In Planes - Light For The Deadvine.

New AC/DC album: "Black Ice". 4 Decent tracks. The rest, all sounds the same to me. (and not too great at that) If you're a big fan of their's, you'll notice alot of songs on this new album, have reminding sounds of their older stuff. I think it's either track 3 or 4 that had a very different twist to it though.
Also listening to some Clapton too, and maybe Boston's first album later.(More than a feeling)

That's one of the best sounding recordings I have heard. Check out 'Sketches of Spain', too.
