Man, those speakers are RESISTIVE

This isn't so much a steamed post as it is a curious (and a true) one.

Mrs. Tomorrow dragged me to a "health fair" yesterday morning (at 7:00 a.m.). So yeah, I do have a tiny bit of venting to do. BUT....we stopped by one booth that had one of these thingies.
http://www.tanita.com/BodyComposition.shtml I believe it was the TBF 300A.
It measures a person's body mass and composition of fat/muscle/bone/water, etc., calculating the individual's Body Mass Index, Total Body Fat, and IMPEDENCE!!

I'd like you all to know that I officially am a 441 ohm speaker. Now I assume that the electrical impulse that the unit uses takes the path of least resistance...so it must have wound it's way up thighs, through my stomach, tickled my brain a bit, then went out the other half/side.

Not surprisingly, the missus presented a resistive load almost double mine. ;) And now you know why men and women are different.

Good cheer to all.

To keep things in perspective; Mrs. Tomorrow also mentioned, your head gives off too much cabinet resonance.:D

Regards and Happy Thanksgiving,

Well...well...I always thought of my skull as anechoic. Darn. I figured that there must be no ringing there cuz I haven't met a thought yet that likes to stay longer than a nanosecond or so.

Does that mean she's 1/2 as gulible or does it mean that you are twice as sweaty? :D
It means I give in on all ...uh... disagreements twice as fast. But it also may mean what you suggest. (Maybe that's why men's antiperspirant has so much aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex dipropolene glycol...to increase resistance.) :p

I kind of like the image of mountainous peaks produced by the echo effect of my cranium. :)

HELLOo ...Ellooo ...loo :D

Did that give you a body age or something like that? I used one of those once and it told me my health age was significantly older than my actual age.

Needless to say, you didn't buy one. ;) Who the hell needs that kind of abuse? :D

No it didn't. But after a massive and disabling heart attack at a young age that I shouldn't have survived, and two kinds of cancer, one Stage IV, I really really really don't want to know how many 100's of years old my body age is!

On the other hand, am I lucky to be enjoying life above ground and good people like you on this forum? OH YEAH I AM!!!! :):):)

I'm certainly happy that you managed to stay around long enough that we could share our thoughts on audio gear and life in general. It's been my pleasure. I have been meaning to mention I like the SR-71 picture in your sig. I keep a model of an SR-71 on my main audio rack. For all the hours my wife has spent watching the military channel, that's the plane that she thinks is the coolest ever and likes having that model in the living room.

Dave, this may be along the lines of what you're talking about: The Real Age Test-
http://www.realage.com/ralong/entry4.aspx?cbr=GGLE806&gclid=CKLJ7tKb6JYCFQUWGgodK3uYOg
I'm not sure. I can't get past that page without registering to see how they determine your real age. My friend's device looks like a regular scale, but it has a computer built it that asks a bunch of personal questions. Then once you weigh yourself, it provides results for a few different parameters including body age.

Thanks, Dave. It truly is a lovely aircraft ... if you can call a war machine "lovely". The one here at the Evergreen Aerospace Museum is impeccable and looks like it's breaking Mach 3 just sitting there!

I just barely beat Majorloser to the punch on this one. I think he wants to use it, so I might have to share at some point. :)
