How to extract audio from DVD

Greetings:

I own a movie on DVD and it's a rock opera. I want to try and get the audio part of it onto CD instead of having to purchase basically the same thing again but on CD. Can someone tell me if I'm able to do this, and if there is any free software out there that is easy to use that can help me achieve my goal?

Thanks,

Praxis

Praxis,

Yes you can do it, and yes there is free software that will let you do it.

It's been years since I've done it, and I don't remember the names of the software packages. Others here might know. I just wanted to let you know that so that you could do a little searching on the internet. It shouldn't be difficult to find that software.

Google "extract audio from dvd". It's a common enough search that it comes up as an autofill option on Google.

The first link gives instructions on how to use a free software program to do it.

Enjoy!

Try DVD Shrink if you can still download it. I think it will allow you to separate the Video .iso files and audio seperately. I dowloaded it years ago. Its a free program and I love it. It may be difficult to find now because of all the copy laws and what not. DVD2one is another good one that allows you to transfer 24/96 onto dvd. There might be a feature that allows what you want. Also check out MMshall. Hope this helps.

DVD Shrink is a great program! I've never tried to separate audio from video with it, though. You can still get it from multiple places, but the official website is at this link here.

What happened to them on your screen? They still look fine to me. I'm not on Daylight Savings, though - maybe that has something to do with it.
