I really hate to say it but my RX-V1800 receiver may go down as my worst investment.

I was looking to upgrade to an HDMI receiver to replace my 1500.

Without going into details; the $900 upgrade wasn't worth it.

Still love Yamaha, but..

I liked my 659 way better than the 3800 so I know what you are talking about!

What didn't you like about them?
They just didn't do anything for me. The imaging and stage was way off center and I did the normal troubleshooting things to no avail. I simply never got anywhere with them and they were known working. You can't win them all and there's too many speakers out there.
