Okay, I just checked out this movie last night with DTS-MA.
First, the PQ is outstanding. I give it a perfect rating. There are some background scenes that has slight film grain, but I think John Woo did that on purpose just to please some hardcore videophiles - to make it look more "real" or something?
The SQ (audio) is unbelievably superb. Every single speaker is severely tested. When the horses run on the battle field, it sounds like a stampeed is going through my room.
I think my blood pressure increased by about 50 mmHg just from the soundtrack!
It truly put me on the edge of my seat, and I was lying down!
This is one movie I will most likely watch three times - one in DTS-HD MA, one in TrueHD, and one in LPCM.
Oh, the story is pretty good, and the fight scenes are very cool.
Red Cliff Blu-ray is definitely a Reference Quality BD in my book.
