Thank you to all who kept My wife, daughter, and me in your thoughts and prayers. Last night on 10-13-08 at 12:10 am we became proud parents of a 8# --19.5 inch baby girl She was taken by C-section at Shands UF (Go Gaotrs!!)due to complication.

This has really taken a toll on me. Ive had a few hours sleep since the start of the thread (Yeah i know...im whimp! ) The hardest thing for me was being made to leave my wife in the operating room. They made me go with the child. i will try and get a photo or 2 up when i have more rest.

My wife & I went through the same thing 8 years ago with our son. 28 hours of induced labor just to have a C-section in the end. It is very weird to leave the mother of your child in the operating room to go look after your child...strange feeling indeed. I told my wife that we could not name a child with out seeing his face first. I wasn't going to name the boy Fred if he looked like a George.(She puts up with me...) So when I finally got to see her again the first thing she asked me was what's his name!

Great memories that I know you'll never forget Tommy.

Don't forget to tell your wife and beautiful daughter that there is a group of strange AV geeks that they have never met wishing you all well!

Congratulations. I'm glad to hear everything worked out despite the difficult circumstances. My first was also delivered by emergency C-section after a difficult labor. To this day some 23 years later, I can't believe they let me stay in the room while they cut my wife open right in front of me. But it all worked out for the best in the end.

But I really want to know if you experienced your epiphany the first time you saw your beautiful new baby.

Wow Tommy she is adorable! I just love her name Kira Teagan as it is very pretty. Congrats to you both my friend. Just cherish these moments because they grow-up so fast. I am sure in no time, that Kira will be "daddy's little girl". Hopefully, you both can get some rest now. Lastly, I am so glad that everything is okay. The Lord answered our prayers.
