SVS black vinyl finish

I currently have the SVS SB12-Plus in RoseNut and although it is very nice looking (despite a minor nick on the top) I'm actually considering replacing it with the basic black version. The deep reddish brown is just a tad too much for a room that is mostly brownish with the orange-ish Oak and darker Cherry finish of the furniture.

So...anybody with the basic black vinyl finish on an SVS sub, what do you think of it? Does it look ok or does it look cheap compared to the special wood finishes like Rosenut?

I've heard it's a very nice finish. I very nearly got that finish instead of the rosenut.

my best description of the textured black is: it looks and feels just like a teflon pan.

but black vinyl on the entry level and textured black on the big-sized subs are supposed to be different, but i never noticed a difference.

of course, other difference is: no magnetic grill on the black vinyl SB12 = grill pegs

also, the rosenut finish is just so pretty, it looks like fine furniture BUT is also the reason why, if i had a chance, i'd sell the rosenuts and get textured black again. i just like the "roughness" look of the textured blacks

Mike C is not mentally stable, if one asks me. How else to explain why he wants to make his walls fall down around him with bass? Right now, you know, he is making plans to add 4 x JL W7 10" subs and thousands of watts to power them -- just for midbass!!!!

Ive been around for a while (since before you bought every sub known to man) I know where your from. What is shipping only on a Ultra from you to Chicago IL? If I had to guess Id say ~$200? Just to double check your from Malaysia right?

i don't know about the US, but shipping to the PH a very big percentage of the item + tax.

put it this way, i had fedex quote me a document parcel to the US (short brown envelope inside) - 25USD
