I'm going to figure this won't get many responses in this crowd, but .....

Any hookah smokers on here? What's your flavor? While listening to tunes?

Hey what do you mean "this crowd".:D
It is called shisha (flavoured tobbaco) and it is smoked out of a massive water pipe:D. I have tried this on a few ocassions and it is really pleasing. The tobbaco comes in different flavours. The ones I have tried were all different fruit flavours, the smoke is very fragrant and tasty and smells up the room with a nice odour (you do not inhale the smoke). It is a very relaxing experience.

YES YES YES YES YES YES!

I smoke up with a friend. It's very relaxing, and you can inhale, without the awful taste that comes from cigars, or weed, or cigarettes.

So far I've had Double Apple, Vanilla, Cola, and Watermelon. I like double apple the most :)

Should be back there smoking shisha and drinking tea tomorrow :)

Yeah, that's why I mention it. I feel that it goes along well with this hobby, just relaxing and listening to music.

Thanks for the description, I probably should have added a description in case some weren't sure what we are talking about!

I like the Al-Waha plum and pomegrante a lot, but I switch it up a lot. Kind of the fun part. Good call on the Double Apple, I really like that also!

...certainly not off the shisha though!

Also, you should buy a proper screen.... or at least put the shiney side down on the foil... health purposes. ;) They are like 2-3 bucks and last a long time.

I havn't had shisha in years but what I do remember the sessions lasting a very long time. The bowls burn very slowly:). My personal preference was to try to get in as much smoke as possible and hold it in my mouth for a few seconds then exhale the bellow of smoke:). I prefer not to inhale the smoke even though it does happen, it would be safe to assume if I inhaled every turn, I think I would end up being very sick.

Yeah, always at a LAN party too.

SheepStar
Yup, i was at a Lan party when it went down. I drank a few of the bawls duing an Unreal Tournament Tourney (first time i had them). About half way through the tourney I got a case of the "projectile squirts". I was able to finish the tourney but man i was in bad shape. The Bawls tore my stomach up sooo bad. I havent drank any of them since. My team took 2nd at the tourney....

Peace,
Tommy

Yeah, long sessions depending on how much is packed. Since it's a chill social thing, people talking and doing other things slows it even more. Even a private session with some music, surfing the web, doing homework/research, or video games I think still lasts over an hour.

It is actually pretty mild to inhale, as the shisha isn't burned it is just heated to extract the aroma and then cooled in the water pipe. I find what type of shisha you smoke also seems to affect the smoothness (Al-Waha works well for me). Also putting ice in the water will cool the smoke better.

But, no need to inhale, just relaxing, enjoying the aroma and playing with the smoke is good enough!

I've done it a few times. There used to be an Indian restaurant/bar that had hookahs you could use after dinner hours. That place is gone and the People's Republic of Madison banned smoking in bars. I liked the cherry flavor.

That's interesting, because we are now a smoke free campus, so the bars have to be smoke free... but the hookah bars have no problems. Smoked in one today with my professor while we went over some things. Wonder how that works... I guess it is difficult to compare cigarette smoking to hookah smoking though, and it is in a "hookah bar" ...

I think there may be a couple of cigar bars that have exemptions. I don't know of any hookah bars. Of course, the way Madison is, there are probably a lot of things I haven't heard of.

You guys smoke tobacco out of the Hooka....
Shisha is molasses tobacco... literally tobacco mixed with honey and flavoring. It is heated rather than burned, to extract the flavor. That might be why it is allowed.
