BAM! Excellent!

Are you going to be waiting by the door, listening...getting excited everytime the sound of a large track gets near? You know, like the rest of us do? :)

You know the drill!:D

I'm at work right now, but when 3:15 p.m. comes, I'll be flying out of here.

That's a great model. We will be waiting to hear about your experience with it. Will it live up to the review site hype? Acudeftech guy will let us know.

Not Today...Tomorrow

Why does UPS insist on delivering Signature Required packages @ 3pm when everyone is at work?

Looks like I will have to either pick it up myself or they will try to deliver it tomorrow.

But I will take some pics of the Optoma HD81-LV itself plus pics of the actual projected picture on the 120" screen.

I will set all the parameters exactly like the way ProjectorReviews.com did it.

The weird thing about this projector is that it has an outboard 1080p scaler (video box). So I will have to connect both a HDMI cable and a parallel RS232 cable (like on computers) from the video box (in the audio rack) to the projector (way up on the ceiling).

You might already know, but you can put your signature on file with UPS so that they'll leave it if you aren't there. There should be that option on the slip that they left at your door. Leaving an item in your absence is at their discretion, though. The exception is if the sender requires a signature in person. Fairly rare for me, but it has happened on occasion (Apple, for example, does that).

I thought we had a deal:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Sorry, Greg.:D

My friend had to literally beg his boss just to get me one. It only took like 2 or 3 months? I almost thought I wasn't even going to get one - at least not at this price. I wasn't about to pay $5,000 for a projector.:D

I CAN'T HEAR YOU ANYMORE....

Plus I took your PJ of the truck, that's why you didn't get it today:eek:

I am SOOOO jealous! I bet it is going to be awesome. I can't afford a projector like that for another year or two.

Are you ever going to run a 2.40:1 CIH set-up? Just curious.

Those UPS people are a bunch of liars!

I called them yesterday to arrange a pick-up. The 1-800 number said the local center would call me back in 1 hr. So I waited by the phone, but they never called me back. 1 hr passed so I called them back. They said the same thing - that someone from the local center will call me back in 1 hr. Nothing. So I called them again this morning and they said they TRIED to call me TWICE yesterday, but I never ANSWERED? A bunch of liars!

Oh, well, hopefully I will get that projector today - unless Greg already took it from the UPS truck.:D

I want my projector back, Greg!

Do you hear me now?:D

You forget how devious Greg can be. They were calling his number. He was probably just sleeping. :)

If you missed it, check out my post at #11. You shouldn't have any trouble getting it, unless they need you there in person (which is would say on the slip that they should have left).

Thanks. I hope it will be awesome. I will compare the picture quality of this HD81-LV with my Mitsubishi 62" DLP HDTV in both dark and bright light. I heard this projector is extremely bright w/ great PQ.

Did you mean Anamorphic? No, I will just do the usual 16:9 (1.85:1) thing. I'm not sold on the anamorphic lens.

Yeah, I know about that. However, I just don't like leaving expensive stuff on the porch unless someone is there to take it inside the house. :D

UPS local office just called me. They said they will try to get the driver to deliver AFTER 4 pm today!:D

This Projector better be worth all this trouble! After about 100 emails and phone calls and $3,500 later, it better be worth it.

I believe the term "light-canon" has been used liberally with this projector. BMXTRIX usually has a lot of info on the best projectors. I wonder if he has installed one of these?
