No HT - Can't Take It!!

Ok it has been under a week of without my HT gear and I am having withdrawals. I know getting the room done should be a very exciting time and things are coming together ok. My ceiling tiles are going to take 4-6 weeks to get but the dry wall and taping is almost done.

I guess I did not realize how much of a stress reliever it is for me to go down and listen to a few tunes or a movie to chill out after a crap day.

How do you guys who have taken months to build your rooms take it!!!

I have been slowly building my room for awhile now. I basically plug all my stuff in and watch it with whatever stage/equipment I have available at the time. I get a movie fix and at the same time I appreciate it that much more when the next part of the room gets finished and I immediately see improvements. I started with just the projector on a table shooting onto a blank wall. I was happy when I was able to ceiling mount it finally. Then I was even happier when I finally got my screen up. I'm still using crappy speakers with crappy speaker wire that I didn't even bother to hide since I know it is all leaving as soon as I put in the rest of the stuff. I guess your situation is different though since you are actually building the room and already have the equipment. I already had a decent room and was just adding the equipment.

When I refer to the crappy speakers I am not referringto the ones in my signature block...those are "in the mail" and will be replacing the ancient sony crap I have now.

How do you like the HC1500 projector? I am considering the HC4900 or its replacement in a few months. Is it quiet?

I absolutely love it! Everything the review sites say about it are dead on. Very quiet too. I have 8.5' ceilings and it only sits about 2' back from where I sit and I wouldn't even know it was turned on if it wasn't for the picture on the wall. Picture is outstanding too. I'm waiting for 1080p to become more mainstream before I make a leap in that direction.

I don't know how you've even managed to survive a week. I've been back home from college for about a day and a half and not having my speakers is driving me nuts.

Yeah, but are you at home with the parents without your speakers? Double whammy for most college kids. I think that's where highlander has you beat. :)

I'd say, "well, that and the drugs," but you're in college...so I'm not going to presume that. ;)

On Friday my contractor accidentally locked himself out of my house so I am now an extra day behind. I was hoping to do some painting this weekend but that will now be next weekend.:(

At least the porch is done and that will make the wife happy and move one step closer to forgiveness of the speaker purchase.:)

I have taken pics but I was thinking of saving them to make a post of the process but here are a couple to show where I am.
