I'll be sure to post some pictures and some impressions. BTW, I used to own the Athena P400 10" sub. I sold it to a friend and upgraded to the AV123 MFW-15. I can't wait! It's supposed to ship next week! By the way, I live in an apartment with paper thin walls. The Athena was pretty loud and I was always surprised that I didn't get any complaints. Let's see what happens with the MFW-15. Maybe the cops will show up at my door...

Hey, maybe they can put you on the show COPS.........LOL!!!!! Next thing you know, you become a movie star. Then, you start making films yourself and become the CEO of your own subwoofer company. Anyways, you get the idea right?

Phil, I really dig the 3.3. I'm not using a fraction of its power and it shakes my room.

Wow, Jim that 3.3 looks great. Much better than I anticipated. I use to own a black one and was amazed by it. Thanks for the pic. The Hsu site just does NOT do their subs justice picture wise imho.

It seems like a lot of people prefer the HSU over the SVS. I don't know if this is relevant, but here is my speaker setup.

5.1 surround

Fronts - Athena AS-F2 (not .2)
Center - Athena AS-C1 (not .2)
Surround - Polk Audio R15 bookshelfs
Receiver - Yamaha HTR-5860

I'm still torn between HSU and SVS so please keep the suggestions coming!

Both subs are excellent. IMO a good sub plays both movies, and music. A sub is either tight, accurate, or it's not. And if you ask me I would say that the SVS has a better build quality over the HSU. JMO

I would be looking to upgrading those mains before anything else. JMO.

Hey Maz, I have been invited to hear dual MFW-15's myself. However, with everything going on w/my Mom's illness just have not had the time. Plan to demo them as soon as I can. With that being said, what would you say the would be closest in performance to the MFW-15??? Is there anything out there that would be very similar? Just curious my friend.

I wasn't involved with any measurement, and didn't spend enough time auditioning with any dynamic material to make that kind of determination.

I am content with my MAINS for now. i was actually content with my current setup, but the upgrade bug bit me and I decided to upgrade my sub first, especially since my friend wanted to buy it. Just out of curiosity, which speakers would you recommend for my MAINS?

I'm in GA and shipping was $130 for me also. I guess you are asking since I paid $779 shipped. Well, it was $699 + $130 shipping - $50 discount (new forum member at av123). I'm not sure if the $50 discount is still going on, but they have a new sale going on right now. I believe Satin Black will get you a $70 credit and all the other finishes are only $20 more instead of the usual $100 more. I believe these are for finishes NOT made in China.
