Well thank you so much Sang. That was mighty nice of you to offer some kind words. It really is much appreciated.

I just got done watching a few must hear scenes (transformers flip, Finding Nemo Darla tapping, War of the Worlds Pod emergence scene) and I have to say that the MFW-15 is incredible. I haven't done any calibration. I just unboxed it and hooked it up and just started watching the movies. I didn't realize just how huge this sub was. I knew what the measurements were but I guess I just didn't picture it to be this big. Anyway, I'll try to get some pictures up over the weekend.

Glad to hear that you're liking it! Pictures will be most appreciated. :)

As for the size, I hear ya. I was the same way with my SVS. I'm pretty good at translating dimensions into length (1-D), and most times into area (2-D)...but volume (3-D) always gets me. I just can't visualize it that well - until the monster is at my doorstep and I'm staring right at it!

Wow, you are one lucky guy. I bet it does sound stellar. Once fully calibrated, it will really WOW you if you will. Thanks for an update-looking forward to some pics and more of your initial impressions. ;);)

Cheers,

Maybe someone can answer my question here. When I first plugged in my cable from receiver to sub, I got a hum. I remember a lot of people fixing the hum by using a cheater plug (plug that changes 3 prong to 2 prong). Well, I was impatient and lazy, so I just used a power cable that I already had (the sub's power cable to identical to most PC power cables) and removed the 3rd prong from the cable (ground prong). This fixed my hum issue and I figured that this was essentially the same as using a cheater plug. I guess I want to know if removing the 3rd prong is just as safe as using the cheater plug. Or will that somehow mess something up? I just want to be safe. My old sub only had 2 prongs and it didn't hum.

Ripping off the ground pin is the same as if you had a cheater plug. Just make sure that you dont plug it in upside down now that you no longer have the ground pin since three prong plugs do not have the polarized prongs on them.
