Which Part?????

Hello people I have once again have a question. When going to your local movie theater what part do you generally prefer to sit in? Of course, I am aware that at times it is hard, if not impossible, to get the place you prefer due to being overcrowded. However, if available do you prefer the left side or the right side?? What about the middle?

Generally speaking, I prefer the upper left hand side about 2/3 of the way up myself. This is not always the case, but have found myself going to that side time and time again. Maybe it is because I am left-handed.......who knows? Just curious to see what area others prefer and why.

Seriuosly, I like sitting on the front row balcony area; not in the very, very fronts seats below, which I refer to as pit, because balcony is not a true balcony.

Buy more and more, I watch HT at home , netFix and YV movies/shows since I upgraded my HT system.

I rarely go either. It has to be something I'm REALLY interested in (Dark Knight for example) seeing on the big screen, or I have to be totally bored to actually fork out that kind of change to see a movie in the theater.

I too prefer to be centered. But, for some reason when at a theater I prefer the left side. One reason it makes it easier to get to the rest-room if need be. That way, I don't disturb anyone and I get back to my seat rather quickly. Thanks for sharing John.

Greg, guess I am lucky because where I go it is very clean. I have been to some theaters where that wasn't the case though. As such, it really can be a problem. I also go very early of the day when most people are either at church or hung over.

Ive sat way back on a few occasions. While its not ideal, I can enjoy the movie just fine, except in the cases with a very loud projector. Now, that drives me crazy.

I will also go around all of the seating from where the entrance is... to start looking for a seat. Most people start walking up the aisle that is closest to the entrance, and I think better picks can be had by taking the 5 seconds to walk to the other side.

Yeah Jamie that is a very good choice. However, many feel the same way. As a result, I stay away from that area because from my own experience that is where most of the disruptive behavior occurs. Of course, this NOT always the case but quite often to say the least. But, it is the best spot for sure if the theater is not too crowded. Thanks for sharing Jamie.

Jost you have a point here. I usually make sure I get there early enough to get a good seat before all of the lights are tuned off. I just hate it when people keep coming in late after the movie starts. This can be very distracting imho. Thanks for sharing.

Center, about 2/3 of the way up. It's been about five years since I've been, though.

Normally, I'm slightly off center, on the floor, about 12 feet from...my TV. Gotta love the home "theater." (On the floor for snacks, and sharing with the pooch.)

Dead center... absolute worst seats are in the front. This is true even for symphony, theater and (especially) opera performances.

At the Drafthouse Lake Creek, you get punished for it, too. LOUD *** bright centers directly in your ear. I saw The Dark Knight there. I thought I was going to need ear surgery. It was loud, high pitched and painful.

I'll definitely take the center seats. (J. Garcia, I remember many times waiting in line at the Mercado and the Shoreline amphitheater as well as that complex in Union City only to have to sit on the sides or in the back and cuss because everything was off axis.)
