go with the 67"dlp, to bright of a room for the plasma.

how did you determine brightness with just the amount of windows? Also a DLP can look worse in bright room compared to some plasmas;) At that distance i would want the largest screen size i could afford. I'm assuming your seating is going to be on the long wall opposite the tv, Id wait till your setup(this is your new place right?) before making any concrete plans.

I agree with bandphan - at that distance I'd think you'd want the biggest screen you can get your hands on.

Also, you have plenty of room, so the dlp v. flat panel space issue sort of goes away.

I have several plasmas (sammys), because I have somewhat limited space - and while the pic qualiy is great - not sure I would go past 15ft with my 50inch. I also needed something with good viewing angles. And the plasmas - at least mine - run warmish so I've had to be aware of good ventilation.

As far as light - I've had both plasmas (not together) in a room with a bunch (5 or 6) of windows (quite bright) - and it didn't really bother much during the day, and of course, for most people, most viewing is at night anyway. And if it does bother you, you can always get some heavier window treatments.

yes it will be in the new place, i just determined the brightness by number of windows.

probably around 19 feet
At 19', a 50" set might be OK to watch the news, but that's about it. If you can't do front projection because of light issues, shop for a large rear projection.

Samsung LED DLP, 67A750

I just purchased the 67A750-- I can say that it is a HUGE improvement over my 61" Samsung DLP I purchased 4 years ago! I sit between 9-14 feet away, and it's the perfect sized screen, IMO. I haven't done any calibrating yet, but watching the opening ceremonies for the olympics was an immersive, almost like being there experience. I have a huge wall of windows opposite the TV, and it's plenty bright with minimal reflection (although the bezel is glossy black, which does reflect a bit). geometry of the screen is almost perfect-- it's off by 1/4" on the top, but the other three sides are spot-on. I don't know if exchanging it would be worth it, it seems like most people have some degree of this-- I don't know if I would have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it. Overall a GREAT tv for the money-- I was considering a Pioneer Kuro Elite 60", but for a third of the price and 7 extra inches, it was a fairly easy decision to make. I was also considering the new Mitsubishi 73835, but decided against it, mostly d/t HDMI handshake issues and a less than glowing review on CNET. Although, I think with calibration either TV is going to be a good deal.
