Hopefully these turn out better! Anyway, first pic is the MR how it looked when we bought the house (room measures 13 X 17) Notice the knee wall and built in in this pic.... second pic is a shot as you walk in the room at 90% completed.... notice the knee wall and bulit in are both gone now. My speakers are placed behind the "fake wall" and are covered with the acoustic speaker cloth( I did this to maximize my room size).

Third pic is a shot from the front of the room looking back.... notice the pocket doors; (we added these doors to maximize space and avoid the door swinging in or out).

Fourth pic is the JVC RS-2 (INCREDIBLE PROJ.)!!!

Fifth pic is a shot coming out of the MR kitchen; looking at the second row of seating (apologize for the flash).

For HT seating with chose to go with 2 single HT chairs on the back row and one small couch for the front row. Back row is approx. 14 feet from screen and first row is 10.5 feet from screen.

Overall I am pleased with how the room turned out.... if you recall the built in in the first pic.... well they took one pier and literally moved it to the kitchen and placed it in the wall!!! (Wife was freaking out that day)! This is where my gear is!

Bottom line with my room is in order to maximize it's size we decided to place the speakers behind the "fake wall" and move my gear to the kitchen.

Thanks for looking!!!

Much much better pics. ;);) I remember when I first started posting some pics that they too were very small.:eek: With some practice, you will get better at it. As far as your room goes, very nice!!!!!! I love the color of the walls as it adds a very nice relaxed feel to the room. Kudos to you. Keep up the good work. The chairs are also a nice touch. Did you pick all of this out yourself or did your wife help?

Cheers,

Phil

Thxs!!

I would like to take credit but the ordeal in picking out furniture is too much for me! So, the Wife picked the chairs and couch.... we were looking for more slim chairs VS the traditional HT chairs and did not want a row of two or three; had to be single chairs.

Either way, it is coming together quite nicely. Just love the colors. Keep up the hard work and dedication. Kudos to both of you.

Congrats, 64. I've never seen the RS-2 in action, and I would sure love to. Well, maybe I'll take that back, because I really dig my RS-1, and I want to keep it that way. Hehehe.

I can't tell from the pics, but... is there either enough space behind front row, or enough riser height to warrant putting the back two seats directly behind the front row? I think it would help for viewing, but even more so for the audio, IMHO.

Can I ask you what your viewing angle for the front row is?

Nice room.

Hi, the problem with both chairs right behind the couch is more of an issue of space.... if we never reclined the chairs it would work; but if 50% reclined (I am 6'4') you would either kick someone in the head! OR your feet would be hitting the couch! So we made the decision to space the chairs out so if fully reclined your feet would go about to the steps on either side of the couch... meaning open space. As for my viewing angle... do u mean length from screen to row one? if so, approx. 10.5 feet.

Thxs!

Yeah, I presumed you had very good reason to setup the seating that way. I asked for viewing angle, because I was curious how much lee-way there was to move the front row up, in order to perhaps give you more needed flexibility of space (as I correctly assumed).

10.5 ft from your eyes to a 104" 16:9 screen is a 39.6 degree viewing angle by using the attached calculator. You don't have much lee-way. I use about 42 degree from front row, which is actually only 6" closer. Nope, not much space. Some people like a 1:1 viewing distance to screen width ratio, which is very close, but they are doing this with 2:35 : 1 aspects usually. IIRC.

Im gonna take a closer look at that seating now, and see if I come up with a magical solution. Doubt it! ;)
