Vinyl Resurgence. Which TT to Use.

I am reviving my vinyl from the 60's and 70's. Classical, jazz as well as classic rock. I have an older Marantz 6350Q TT that I believe only needs a new stylus. I also have the opportunity to acquire a Dual 721 Direct Drive TT with a Shure 15 III series cartridge, also needing a stylus. I need help in deciding which unit will produce the best sound when attached to a upper range mid-fi system. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

The Marantz should still be good. As for the stylus, would be better to get a total cartridge.
I know that the styluses that were used on the Shure V15 type V are no longer available, so I bought the new M97 cartridge.

I would keep the Marantz, and I agree with the Shure cartridge recommendation. Don't forget that you need a high gain RIAA input for a turntable and if you don't have one, you will need a phono preamp.

An excellent cartridge for getting into vinyl would be the Audio-Technica AT 440 MLa. It tracks like a lazer and sounds better than it has a right to for its price.

It was recommended to me as I was getting back into analog recently and I couldn't be happier with it. If you do a search for it, you'll find it's very popular and well regarded

I have that cartridge as well on my Rega. It has superb tracking and sounds great. I got it for $97 online and it looks like a lot of places have now increased the price to $200.

Another great cart to check out is the Benz Micro MC20 but it's MC.
