Tuesday, I called Digital Craze to find out the latest. They had actually credited me back for the cost of the speakers, but kept the order open. I was told the speakers were coming from a new distributor and they would go out Friday (today). Granted I was a bit skeptical, but after a couple of phone calls, I learned the speakers have already gone out via Yellow Freight and I have my tracking number. I called Yellow Freight to verify, but she said it normally takes 24 hours for the tracking number to go live.

Anyway, the speakers should be here in FL by Tuesday. I have to lay off Digital Craze a little bit because they did ultimately get me my speakers, albeit a week or so late. Sometimes stuff just happens and things go wrong... but I always seem to be on the receivign end of the bad news. Granted they aren't in my hands, hooked up and working, but I'm trying to think positive here.

This is great news Chris!!!! Am very glad you can maintain your objectivity as many of us couldn't-myself included. Be sure to give us your initial impressions.

I did. They Digital sent me a fax for a prepaid FedEX return, so I shipped the demo unit back to them at their cost and the credited me even before they got it. I told them that they had no problem charging me before I got my equipment, so they shouldn't have any issue crediting me in kind. They refunded me without issue. They didn't have another unit in stock, apparently from others I have talked to, the Elite 94 is in short supply or at least they are not always readily available. To their credit, Digital was upfront with me and told me they couldn't promise a delivery date for a new one since they didn't have one hand. They gave me a 10 day best guess. I decided to call SoundPros and spoke with Scott over there. He had two, so I bought from them and they had it to me in 4 days. I had a good 30 minute conversation with Scott and they come across as really good people.

Either way, I'm not thrilled with the way the entire experience went down with Digital Craze, but in the end I'm getting my stuff. Sure, I wouldn't have had to wait another 3-4 weeks order the DefTechs from someone else, I probably would have cancelled those too, but I figured they were still my best option for getting me the speakers to me the fastest at this point and they have apologized and done what they could. I would consider ordering from them again when all is said and done... I'd just make sure that the stuff I want is in fact in stock first.

So... by Tuesday or Wednesday, the speakers should arrive. I'll likely take that day off and get everything up and running so we can have our first real movie night. I'm cautiously optimistic... but stoked nonetheless.
