My recent project has been setting up a game/entertainment room in our house. This included a darts board, Mortal Kombat 2 arcade machine and also setting up my neglected Stanton Turntable.
Well... I honestly had nowhere to put my turntable and nothing to power it! I was able to find the $15 cheap pre-amp I picked up off eBay five+ years ago and I used my spare Harman/Kardon AVR7300 to power the two Infinity Speakers (talk about using a cannon to kill a fly)
I decided to give myself a proper vinyl listening system. I upgraded to:
- Jolida JD 202A Tube Amplifier (40wpc to 8ohms)
- Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Preamplifier
It sounds -amazing-! I have several Ella and Duke Ellington LP's from the 60's that makes it sound like there's a concert in my house. Seriously amazing stuff. My first venture into the wide world of tube audio has knocked my socks off!
