At this point I can't fault either company 100% and of course both claim the other is at fault
I think its 50/50 so far. Up until now my 5805 worked flawlessly and I've had it for over 3 years. Epson claims this is an issue with older Denon receivers but Denon claims the've never heard of it.
I do note at our 2007 SOTU event a Sherwood Newcastle processor had a handshaking issue with the Epson projector but I think this problem is more related to an HDCP issue. Welcome to the wonderful world of HDMI.
The only perplexing thing to me is why component video has completely failed.
In any event, Denon offered to upgrade my 5805 to a mkii. Now I have to disconnect about 100 cables and lift this beast out of my rack. In the meantime I guess I will have to settle for testing the Denon separates
Seriously, I wrote that rant last night after a day of frustration and lack of sleep for 2 days. I will survive but unfortunately this consumes a lot of the time I could be using writing product reviews
