The LOTR, Godfather (I and II), Star Wars series, most movies starring Bogie, The Forbidden Planet, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Thing (1951 version), the Ed Wood and Plan 9 set, even though they had different directors and decades, Shawshank Redemption, Ben Hur and Gladiator, and 3:10 to Yuma.

I have to go with The Tuskeegee Airmen. Excellent cast, well-told story, factual events backed up by a remarkable combat record. It's a story that touches on so many facets of life that it's as relevant today as it was during the war. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend that you make the time and effort.
Definately a good movie, but not a favorite. A bit cheesy at times but it kinda gets at you when you realize it is based on factual material.

As far as a single favorite, I really don't have one. My list would change daily based on my mood. That said, a lot of the movies listed are great movies and on my list of favorites.

I think the movie I seen more than any of my others is probably C.H.U.D. (Canabalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers). I don't think I'd list it as a favorite, hell, it's not even a very good movie. It's got bad acting, bad story, bad script, bad effects, and basically bad everything else. But I just seem to always pick it when I can't decide on a movie to watch.

Jack

btw, good call on Blazing Saddles, a movie so offensive you can't help but laugh constantly.

#1) Lawrence of Arabia -- the DVD looks awful -- I hope the Blu-Ray can do the film justice
#2) Gone with the Wind -- cheesy by modern standards but a timeless epic
#3) Malcolm X -- Spike Lee didn't get enough credit due to the controversial nature of this film
#4) A Clockwork Orange -- Kubrick's best! Take that, Strange lovers.
#5) Casablanca
#6) Pulp Fiction
#7) Schindler's List or Munich -- I kind of prefer Munich
#9) Cinema Paradiso

Honorable mentions:
Gangs of New York, The South Park Movie, Dr. Strangelove, On the Waterfront, Vertigo, The African Queen, American Pie (I said it!), Ratatouille, La Femme Nikita (not the American version), Ran, the first (and only the first) Indiana Jones movie

Which of the many versions of Pride and Prejudice is your favorite? I personally like:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078672/

You can find a few more versions at:

http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=pride+prejudice&x=0&y=0

Unfortunately, none of the versions I have seen is perfect, but the one at the first link seems to have the fewest flaws and seems to follow the book better than the others. Elizabeth Garvie is great as Elizabeth Bennet.

The movie Pyrrho...not the series. Filmed in 2005 with Keira Knightley, Donald, Sutherland, etc. Good chick flick.

I have way too many to list, and some of my favorites were already listed, especially anything that includes Jason Statham and Vinnie jones lol. But I thought I would throw this out there, since I haven't seen it on the list, with Christian Bale, was "Equilibrium". The story, action sequences, and the whole idea of the movie I just loved, if that get released in Blu-Ray I wouldn't even blink to buy it, loved that movie.

Anyone else even seen it ?
