I never watched that one, so I really am not in a position to say if it was good or not (nor is anyone else who hasn't seen it.)
I actually thought it was a fantastic movie- the cinematography is some of the best that I've ever seen. The visuals must be amazing in High Def- unfortunately it's only out on HD DVD right now. I'll definitely buy it when it comes out on BD.

As for the story- if you can get past the hype and publicity you'll see that it's a very well-written script with good dialogue and an even better sense of how to communicate without words. Both Heath and Jake gave once in a lifetime performances- I never would have expected it from either of them having seen their prior work.

I wouldn't classify it as a favorite, but it's definitely a must see.

I have to go with The Tuskeegee Airmen. Excellent cast, well-told story, factual events backed up by a remarkable combat record. It's a story that touches on so many facets of life that it's as relevant today as it was during the war. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend that you make the time and effort.

Add a new one to my favorite foreign language film and favorite WW2 film lists- Just watched Letters From Iwo Jima... WOW!!! Such a great story, well directed, and it sounded amazing in Dolby True HD.

Highly recommend.
