From Home Media Magazine:

At least one of the two studios exclusive to HD DVD is already gearing up to join the other team.

"While Universal values the close partnership we have shared with Toshiba, it is time to turn our focus to releasing new and catalog titles on Blu-ray," said Craig Kornblau, president of Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

"The path for widespread adoption of the next-generation platform has finally become clear. Universal will continue its aggressive efforts to broaden awareness for hi-def’s unparalleled offerings in interactivity and connectivity, at an increasingly affordable price. The emergence of a single, high-definition format is cause for consumers, as well as the entire entertainment industry, to celebrate."
This is great news. I look forward to Universal's first Blu-ray Disc offerings.

What high profile titles does Universal have?
Upcoming:

Definitely, Maybe
Charlie Wilson's War
The Incredible Hulk
Hellboy II
The Scorpion King
Wanted

As for catalogue titles.....there's far too many.

I'm looking forward to Jurassic Park, Red Dragon, Casino, Backdraft, ET, Jaws, Scarface, The Bourne Trilogy, Children of Men, and many others.

The only reason I could see upgrading would be if Identity and Supremacy get new lossless audio tracks. The HD DVD versions only have DD+ tracks at 1.5 Mbps.

The newest movie has a TrueHD track.

I'm hoping they'll release them on Blu-ray all with TrueHD or PCM, preferrably 24-bit for the ones where the source is.

So how long before Paramount stops being punks and starts putting out blu-ray's?!?!?

I've been waiting for Star Trek and Hunt For Red October ever since I got my PS 3!!!

Jurassic Park would be cool on Blu-ray.

Hopefully any movies already released will be remastered to take advantage of the extra space on BD. If nothing else, as stated before, lossless tracks would be nice ...
