Don't fall for the BD Hype

What on Earth are you talking about?

No HD player passes DD+ and TrueHD undecoded through analog. For someone posting on a site like this, you should know better.
Where did I write that?

Here:

HD passes DD+ and True via analog.
And if you meant that it passes it after converting it TO analog, then please explain this misinformation.

There is no BD player that passes DD+ and True via analog.
Are you simply trying to spread confusion to other board readers?

Plus you ignore that the HD-A2 and HD-A20 don't have analog outputs and neither does the add-on for the 360, which alone represent over half of the players currently on market.

For the record, I started out on the HD DVD bandwagon, however it did not take long for me to go Blu. For my tastes BD had much more to offer when it came to movie selection.
I did the same thing. I bought the Toshiba HD-XA1 first. Then bought PS3. Then Sony BD. Then Panasonic BD10A. And as soon as they release the Pany BD50, I will be all over it.

I can't believe Onkyo released an HD DVD player for like $1K? I think it is the only HD DVD player in the world that can decode DTS-MA.

Dolby Digital Plus is not great. I wish they had released Transformers on blu-ray with LPCM or TrueHD.

Well, in the mathematical world, anything over one (1) is plural. Yes, years.
I'm no mathmagician (or mathematician for that matter), but last I checked, plural meant more than one. Thirteen months is one year and one month, the operative word being "one ", e.g year (singular) not years (plural)... -TD

Sure many people buy a PS3 for just gaming, but many buy it for movies....such as myself. I have bought 6 movies in a month and 1 game on ebay which will be sold on ebay when I finish it in a week or 2 of playing.
I'm in pretty much the same boat. I originally bought my PS 3 for gaming, but to date I only have about 6 PS 3 games, but I have over 30 Blu-ray movies. So my PS 3 quickly switched from being a gaming system to an awesome Blu-ray player.

I love this stuff. I heard about Blu Ray way way back when it was just in the works and nothing out and I knew that is what I wanted. HDTV's were just starting to hit the market and were still 4:3 size. I believe it was around 10 years ago. BEFORE HD DVD was even in the thought process that I knew about. Then they had to try and make a competing format and HD DVD was born and the war started. If all that money would have been spent on Blu Ray I believe it would be a much better product today and at least as cheap since there would only be one product so people would not have to wait for a war to end. Sure a war helps bring prices down once people start buying things, but if we had Toshiba making Blu Ray 3 years ago then people would actually be buying it by the masses instead of just 1% or so and prices would be less IMO.
