actually, im not aiming towards those brands, Primarily, I was looking for paradigm, psb, kef, mirage etc. but they're very expensive.
Energy and polk audio at future shop, if I can catch a good deal, I can get something like at 50% off.

Forget about the rti8's, their sold out everywhere.

Besides centre hifi and dumoulin, do any Canadians (or anyone from Mtl) know any other local shops that have good speakers at good prices?

Basically, I already have a sub, velodyne dps-12, got it on special. Budget right now for fronts, center and surrounds is about $1000.

ok, here's the latest,

I went to centre hifi,
they quoted me $1050 for the following:
JBL Venue series: Stadium front speakers, Voice center and Arena surrounds
http://www.jbl.com/home/products/series.aspx?SerId=VEN&Language=ENG&Country=US&Region=USA

I didn't get a quote for the kef Q-series, but I think they said its in the same ballpark of what I am willing to spend, I believe the models are:
iq5 fronts, iq2c center and iq1 surrounds.
http://www.kef.com/kefamerica/qseries/products.htm

Future Shop quoted me the following:
Rti8 (1 pair left in stock) $400, csiA5 $300 and rtiA1 $300 total = $1000

I am going to try and go to Dumoulin tomorrow and see what I can get for Paradigms, but i think they are really expensive there.

What do you guys think so far between the three. The JBL's looked nice, but I dont think that they are that great and worth the money compared to other two.

Maybe I can get future shop to throw in the csiA6 center for a few dollars more, the polks look pretty powerful compared to the others.
This is mostly for movies HT, what is recommended???

Between the KEFs and JBLs, I take the KEFs.

Check out PSB as well.
The 1st package they are suggesting is built around their very capable Image B25 bookshelves. MSRP says around $1600 but thats including a sub. Knock off $500 for the sub and you'd have yourelf a killer system.
