That house is going to rock...literally...off it's foundation.:D

What are you doing for acoustic treatment over the windows on the front soundstage? That's an obvious reflection point that will need to be covered.

Well I was planing on filling it with foam before I mount the 135" screen over the top of it. The screen should cover both windows.

I'd be worried about condensation and mold in the window if you actually seal over the window openings. Assuming the screen is not right against the wall, you could cover the windows with blackout curtain, then get some floorstanding Acoustic panels to sit in front of the windows leaving some room for fresh air circulation to the window. Just a thought.

You seem like a detail oriented person. I'm sure whatever solution you find will be a proper, well-thought out solution.

Nice space David!

You're going to cover up two brand new sliders with foam so as to accomodate the screen? Why did you install them there in the first place? Code? Existing openings?

Dave's got a point about condensation, but with new thermal windows, if the foam is sprayed directly on the panes and frames, condensation could never form as there would be no temperature differential (polyurtehane/Icynene has a huge R factor, and is closed cell...no moisture can penetrate). But why? Is it to late to simply remove the windows and close up the cavity? Prohibited by code?

Either way, that's going to be a beautiful theater David!

Yeah when I designed the room there were no windows at all, But the city said Nay Nay, You need to add window to that room. Same goes for the "Concession room" (room you enter before you go into theater) City made me install a window in there as well. I'm going to try and float the screen a few inches off the back wall so I can install ambient rope lighting to come from behind the screen. I heard it is suppose to enhance the viewing experience. So I think this will allow for enough air flow back there.

My DIY movie light boxes

My father-in-Law helped me build 3 movie poster light boxes over the Christmas holiday. they really turned out better than I imagined.
Built them to hold 17" x 40" Posters. I plan on staining them black. Also going to add more rope lights inside the box.

That's over-the-top construction quality for construction grade lumber David. I need to find a father-in-law that's so kind. :D Sweet.

Yeah I know, That was just plain pine and we used a MDF backing. We are going to use 2 sheets of a non glare acrylic that just slides in thru the top. The poster will slip in between these two pc's. I'm going to add more rope light inside the box. Initial trial it needed to be brighter for double sided movie posters.
