Hi,

I would like to connect the projector to the source and the tube (in wall) is too narrow - 20mm. How can I use HDMI and still use the same tube preventing breaking the wall.

Are there any converters available?

Many thanks,
Miki

I think your asking for a solution for a conduit that's too narrow.

You might be able to use the rapid run system:

http://www.rapidrun.com/

It will let you run one cable and select different end connections. The big drawback is that it's pretty expensive compared to just a regular hdmi cable.

You might also search for hdmi over fiber and hdmi over ethernet (also both very expensive), but I couldn't find a system in which the adaptors were removable from the cable itself (making it bigger than an hdmi connector).

I bet you are right.

The Rapid run would work but would cost around 350 bucks for everything needed.

I would just pop another hole in the wall and header and run a normal HDMI.

I once shaved down the plastic cover around the HDMI connector in order to make it fit through a bisected projector mount pipe. Yamaha makes incredibly lame and overpriced projector mounts, by the way, lol. I now use Peerless... ahhh....

Thanks for your help. Does Rapid run cables are in reasonable quality for home cinema digital quality ( to compare with HDMI cables)?

A digital signal is a digital signal, it either works or doesnt. The rapid system would be fine.

I have no idea how much these cost but they may be small enough for your application.
