Did the system ROCK???
Your Thoughts?
Wouldn't you know it, I couldn't get it going
before the party.
Which was dissapointing because I wanted to show my new DVD of me at California Speedway riding with Professional Motorcycle Racer Chris Ulrich on the back of his AMA Superbike!
New Year's Day started late & slow. Once the overnighters left, I worked on it a little here & there. I was soon sick & brain cells were my body's last priority.
System wasn't up & running until Wednesday night when that active blue screen finally showed up.
But then, the world changed....when I tuned into the HD widescreen HBO broadcast of "Underworld: Evolutions". (read: Clouds part, heaven opens, doves descend, rays of light, yada yada...) Hubby dislikes vampire movies...but, he sat through the whole thing giggling like a schoolgirl! He even said, "I don't really want to watch this movie, but the sound has completely drawn me into it! I'm actually enjoying it now." During the shooting scenes, & there are a lot of them, I thought the neighbors in the house next door would be reporting gunshots to the police any moment! Sooooo loud, sooooo realistic! My hat is off to Dr. Hsu too. We joked about how our friends would soon be asking, "How did you get these cracks in your walls?", "That's our subwoofer," we'd reply
I had high expectations, but this far surpassed them. And, for those of you who know that my original need was clarity of dialogue for hubby, well, he is exstatic! He has thanked me several times & reminded me that he hasn't asked, "What did they say?" even once! Each week on Thursday night we visit with our regular group of friends at one of our homes. Last night Hubby didn't want to go. He said, "I just want to be with my Home Theater tonight." So, we stayed home & rented Spiderman 3 in HD On Demand from our cable company. He's hooked!
I do have a problem though. I am at MAX volume on my reciever. That can't be right! There are some TV shows & even HD DVD's that I have sampled which are not loud enough even at MAX. I have to figure out how to change this.
I'll post pics of my setup tomorrow. Stay tuned!
