I am practically fed up with the publicity about this britney whatever thing. This is exactly what she wants. She is expecting ppl to talk bout her all the time. This will be my last comment if there's anymore thread about her, i won't even open and read it UNLESS she straightens herself out. I wish many of you do the same. Deprive her from the attention she craves about.

Make no mistake, I do not approve of her antics. And I am not a fan. But has it occurred to any of you that maybe she really does have some pyschological/psychiatric problems? I mean, that's the only way I could explain her activities.

Child star turned teenage pop star of the world turned divorcee mother of two that is ridiculed for her lack of current fame and failures at marriage and parenting.

I believe she most probably has some deep issues, making ridicule off limits regardless of her utter lack of mothering skills and seeming lack of love for her two children. Let her be...even stars are entitled to some privacy, though I know many don't believe that. I guarantee you, if any of you were put under the microscope for years on end, we could dig up a lot of dirt...there are very few saints amongst us. And it's just way too easy for me at least to kick someone in her position. Isn't there something more important to discuss. This is fodder for the weak minded, and is not newsworthy. Unfortunately, our news is now riddled with all this "stuff."

Yes, but along with the fame that these people desire comes an unflinching, unmerciful public eye and the public likes their bad news as much or more than their good news. I personally don't like "news" of this nature as it has no actual value; the fact that it is "news" says something about society today.

Let her be...even stars are entitled to some privacy, though I know many don't believe that. I guarantee you, if any of you were put under the microscope for years on end, we could dig up a lot of dirt...there are very few saints amongst us.

Give me all her money and people can put me under any microscope they want. The funny thing about Britney is that she goes looking for it. Why else would she drive around Hollywood on purpose for the paparazzi or lift her skirt for all to see?

masak_aer, don't worry, she has doomed herself so she won't be in the spotlight much longer.

Having majored in psychology while at Harvard, I will say that I don't believe in all this new-age crap that people somehow just get mentally sick and neither do the courts. The majority of people put themselves in these situations. We've become a pill-popping nation who have gotten so spoiled that we've forgotten how to be happy. There are people in the world who have endured far worst than Britney and still live meaningful and happy lives.

I don't condone her actions, and think she is stupid, but you have to admit she didn't have a nice quiet upbringing like most of us did.

Bankers don't have family or friends, hehe... I was starting to believe all this Karma stuff lately, but then I read the story about how that drunk guy killed a mother and 4 kids. Why is it the terrible people always survive these things? Grrr...

Perhaps he has survived to suffer a lifetime...and then an eternity! That's real OT.

Right, just like you huh? You would hang on to every penny and spend most of it needlessly. I would to, but the difference is I recognize it.

Sadly, if she somehow doesn't turn her life around she will become another wasted life, think of Anna Nicole. What makes me sad is that she was someone's little girl once, innocent and full of wonder, now a shell of a young woman, used and discarded by the machinery that made her. Is it her fault? Yes. Can she help herself? No. Her mom failed her, her friends did too, as so did her husband, and now the ones to pay the ultimate price: the children, always the innocent must pay for the sins of the parents. I stopped finding her annoying, just sad.

I agree with Strat in his last post, about the fact that this is simply sad. However, it is truly getting tiresome hearing all these celebrity stories, when this kind of thing happens in blue-collar America every day. Her turmoils should be kept private. Anyone who thinks she isn't (on some level) doing anything she can to recapture the spotlight is out of their mind - once you've been there it's hard to just let it go... that's a long way to fall from grace.

I admit, she has a profound problem, but it isn't only her lack of control - it's her sense of priority, which ultimately only SHE can have the power over. If she had any will to do what's right by her kids, she would pack up, move away from the Hollywood scene, immerse herself within her family and true friends and do what it takes to get better. But that conflicts with her more pevasive desire to keep on being little Ms. Spears Queen of Pop - yet the world has simply stopped paying attention and it's driving her into ruin as a result.

One more thing - I'd have to say she probably has far better resources available to her with her money and fame to seek the help and treatment she truly needs (and not some trendy resort celebrity "rehab" clinic either) than most of the aforementioned middle to lower class moms out there in America, but in the end it's up to her and her own sense of responsibility. This is why I'm fed up with hearing these stories - and why I have such little sympathy.

And we, the common public keep feeding into this B.S. by asking for more, which is exactly what she wants in the first place. Talk about a ridiculous cycle...

That's all I have to say on lil' Ms. Spears - I think I just obliterated 5 to 10 IQ points by even giving her this much thought, so fellas - take it away.

EDIT: I do feel a deep sense of pity and sympathy for her kids I should note that - they are the innocent ones in all of this, and only regard Ms. Spears the Queen of Pop as simply "Mom".
