Not sure what motives that I could have that might be underhanded.
Sorry if this is bad forum protocol or unworthy for discussion.
Its just that I am still new, and do question myself, background and experience in this, not trying to bang heads.
After what I thought was a tooth pulling line of responses, I guess my question boils down to this:
Is that analog/preamp stage in my low end receiver really going to make my listening evaluation null and void as suggested by those folks?
Is the preamp electronics really that important these days when trying to hear differences and evalution such as I did?
Sorry folks, I did not mean to add a bad smear to our forum. I really like this place and don't want to come up like and idiot.
Nothing wrong with your approach as you have no idea who has the right answers. That is where your research comes in handy, and much more of it.
You need to be skeptical and need to become a critical thinker.
Science and its method of inquiry will get you there, unless you are in too much of a hurry to find out.
Step one: you have to know the source of your info.
In case of that link, Stereophile is a very subjective magazine and board, so is AA, audioasylum, a most appropriate name
. They have very little regard for science and its methods of discovery. And, even if one has some sort of higher education and one tries to push that in your face, is no indication of the accuracy of the info as they may have also abandoned critical thinking when it comes to their dear hobby, audio.
Step two: as I indicated, read the articles at the home page here. If you are really into discovery, it may cost you. You need to try to get some of the citations that we post from time to time, Journal papers
Step three: follow the scientific method
ps: as to those responses, way out in left field, or even further than that.
