Since the 2008 CES show is right around the corner and some of us actually have to work, thereby won't be attending.
I thought we could start working on a wishlist of manufacturer's booths we like to see the Audioholics staff visit.

I'd like to see "J" sit through the pre-show keynote speech with Bill Gates.
I'd like to see Tom visit the Oreck Vacuum booth. (to see products that REALLY suck)
I'd like to see Clint visit the Canon booth. (he needs a real camera)
I'd like to see Dina visit the Sennheiser booth (she'll need all the help she can get blocking out the others)

Pre/pro upgrades - Sherwood Newcastle, B&K, Anthem, Rotel, Parasound, etc., etc.
Oh yeah... Denon mid-level that competes with Onkyo Pro/Integra products.

I would like to see what new tv technology is coming out, I want to know what kind of progress is being made utilizing laser technology, and see how many manufacturers are still making DLP and LCD rear projection sets.

The new Denon AVP-A1HDCI is a beast of a pre/pro.(on my wishlist for future toys)
I think we were all thinking of affordable prepros.
I for one would like to see YBA Designs prepro, the YBA YP701 reviewed. It has been delayed in production.......

I also would like to see Audioholics visit and report on a few companies...

Preferrably

Pioneer - Plasma

Panasonic - Plasma

I second what AVRat has said...
Pre/pro upgrades - Sherwood Newcastle, B&K, Anthem, Rotel, Parasound, Denon mid-level that competes with Onkyo Pro/Integra products.

More news from Emotiva...

And if Aerial has a booth, I would love to hear about it...

I agree with the Pio and Panny booths to check on plasmas. Also check out all the front pj folks, particularly the DLP guys to see if they plan on coming out with some decent priced 3 chip units. They better do something or LCD is going to blow them out.;)
A visit to Samsung to see what's the latest on the BD-UP5000 as far as updates to fix all the bugs. Also see if there are any competitors coming out with duo players.
Also go to Emo's booth (as I'm sure you were, anyway) and come away with a set of their new subs to evaluate:D Then give them away to one of us:D:D:D

Hi,
I would like to get the AH take on the Monitor Audio 'Platinums'. I had a chance to hear these at my local dealer, so just wondering what the experts think.

I finally bought a Canon XTi, so there! What's even better is that I'm learning how to use it...

J and Dina won't be there this year, however Tom and I are planning some podcasts that will (if the hotel Internet doesn't suck) be viewable live by anyone who can stay up late enough to watch.

I concur and echo some of the others when mentioning Plasma, Laser, and LED HDTV's. As well as affordable 3chip DLP Front Projectors.

And also please add to that any HD-DVD and Blu-ray developments.

Thanks.

Then just make Tom sit through the Bill Gates speech. :D

After returning from CES, I can report that Pioneer has an impressively THIN... and I mean really really THIN plasma-screen TV. That was impressive, and the crowds around it proved that many people were impressed.

I can also report that CES was a zoo, spanning the entire Las Vegas Convention Center, the Hilton, the Venetian, the Sands, and even most of the suites way up in the towers. The best and most interesting action was up in the towers and by invitation only where the public can't get access. The Venetian tower suites this year did create a pretty good venue for the low-budget vendors to present their wares, and the hotel removed the beds and made some room-changes for the vendors.
