Setting up a 5.1 System with vaulted ceilings

I'm a newbie to the home theater / AV world so I have been learning alot this past month. After doing some research I bought an HT-SP904 Onkyo 5.1 (HTIB) I have heard alot of good things about Onkyo and this system got good reviews all around. MY main question is: Will it be a bad idea to install the sattelite speakers high on the wall (9-10ft) angled downward? I've heard it would sound the same and I've heard that it wouldn't sound as good. And also - what would be some good mount brackets for these speakers? Thanks alot -

At Audioholics it's not what you have. It's that you have something. Glad you joined. Stick around and get involved.

I would try to keep the speakers as close to ear level as possible.

Are you asking about the surround speakers? If so, then sometimes you do the best with what's available. Positioning them in such a way should still yield decent results.
