Westy 42 - VGA switch?

Hello,

I have 2 components using VGA on my TV, and I have to physically go behind the TV and switch them. I was wondering if there was a switch that handled 1920x1080 resolution I could use. Maybe one with a remote, or one that detects the signal? I was thinking a regular KVM, but I'm pretty sure that needs a key and/or mouse for it to work.

Thanks,

Can a mod move this to "Televisions & Displays" my apologies...

You might want to look into an inexpensive matrix switcher, but any of these might do you well, depending on exactly the level of functionality you're looking for.

This seems like a very easy fix, based on what you're describing. There are various levels of functionality and of course, varying costs. Maybe the link will help you decide what's best.

EDIT: What are the two components you're connecting?

Halon -

I am using my Xbox and my MythTV media center. Thanks for the link.

Yes I do!. I was going to go this route, but I heard that these do not support resolutions up to 1920x1080, are you using this? Can you confirm it does? Its so cheap, I think i'll pick it up anyway if you don't know...

Another option for me is to simply swap out my video card (with DVI out) in my mythtv box... But I dumped so much time into this thing, I hate to spend anymore...

Thanks

I can't confirm this exact adapter works but I don't see why it wouldn't considering it is dual-link. You could email them and ask or take a $3.57+shipping gamble.

I have the same TV with a MyHD card/PC hooked up to the VGA, an Oppo up to the HDMI and my Dish ViP622 up to DVI 1 with an HDMI to DVI converter, never had a problem.
