PS3 Gets Profile 1.1 Tomorrow

Profile 1.1 along with DivX support and a few other minor changes are supposed to come tomorrow. Not bad if you ask me. These firmware updates are great when I bought the unit I was happy with what it had - now I just keep getting something for nothing .

Agreed, but I think the continued quality updates for the product are more important as it is showing Sony's commitment to keeping its user base on the 'cutting edge'.

I think the DivX support is far more interesting anyways.

I'm glad they are getting this update out, but I could care less about divx... what I really want is support for internal DTS-HD MA decoding. I still haven't heard anything else about this.

Agreed, this is one feature id really really like to see come to the PS3. I am not an expert but the one thing I notice about the PS3 is it is far better and faster than any bluray player ive seen. By better I mean in terms of SPEED (Load times) .

I'd love to see more HD Bitstream support too, of course I dunno if that is possible or not.

Got the update yesterday, and still no DTS-HD MA support. But it's been confirmed the PS3 will not/can not bitstream the new HD audio tracks, the hardware won't support it. But it has been rumored that the PS3 should have an update out by the end of the year to allow it to support dts-HD MA... we shall see.

The coolest thing about this patch is that I can now play PS1 games on my PSP. I have been trying to decide whether to buy the new FF Tactics remake for PSP but now I don't have to.
