I've got family in the Miami area and I'm long overdue for a visit anyway - I'll let you know if I'm coming down anytime soon.

I appreciate the offer as well! Thanks!

I thought I was feeling earth quakes at Sawgrass mills last week, I guess It was your Thumper!:D

I can see the new High risers they are building next to panther stadium from my Abode.

On your way there you can stop in here, and hear a real subwoofer.

Right on the borderline of the 2, but on the Sunrise side.;)

Yeah, IMO, those beach high risers look terrible way out west.
The buildings on the arena side are ~ok. But those new buildings are UGLY.
You do know those condos are/were starting at near half a million. (for an inland condo:confused:)
And why in the heck would you want to overlook Sawgrass mall.....

@ mazer,:p, to bad I sold my other two HSU's.

Give this system a 30 day try. 2 SEALED 12's with a killer amp. Auto room calibration, and much much more. Sealed subs give you much punchier bass. http://www.Emotiva.com

I'm still waiting patiently for mine to show up. If it ever arrives, I will let you all know how it performs. I've already heard it, so I know it's solid, tight and very capable.

Are those subs meant to be that close to one another? Or can you place them in different locations in the room?

Looks like they might make nice stereo subs. Maybe I'm wrong.

@ mazer, LOL, yeah I had a Rosewood HSU which IMO blew away the looks of those.
Because it came with Piano Black top and bottom.:p
Granted when I bought that sub, I had thought about getting the SVS subs.
But strangely ended up with 1 matte black, 1 Rosewood, and 1 Piano Black.

Anyhow, yeah, I have seen your pics before. I will admit, they do look nice.;)

I'm now debating the new ED sub(a7-450), just waiting for the first shipments to go out, so I can see a few reviews.
Spoke with the designer, and was told that I can get it 'unfinished'. So, still having contacts in the yacht business, I would have it painted Piano Black.:)

That's just a photo for advertising purposes. Since they are passive subs, I'm sure you could place them anywhere you can run a speaker wire to a big enough space. Let the room correction take care of the rest. I'm sure they would make nice stereo subs.

just make sure you tell them what finish you intend on applying, because the CNC holes they make are slightly bigger to give way for the thick coats of industrial thingy they apply.

first few units ship out either this week or next week at the latest. I believe Duaned of AVS will get the first unit. (he gets the first one because the designer wanted mine to match) 2nd and 3rd are mine - which is a moot point because I'll get it a full month after. (if there are no delays and if the survive the trip)

Cool, I may call you again, so I can be the first to get your opinion.:D
(same #?)

You don't mind do you?

Back to OP, I would say try a eD sub, but that will kill one of your requirements (low WAF).

To get a quick example of the size of the HSU subs, here is one of mine next to a 12" budget sub I tested (the H100)

The H100 is a decent HT performer, and is good for small rooms. But I think you would want something with more kick.
Problem with that, unless you go sealed, will be size (per performance).

Anyhow, here is a pic.

To get an idea of the size of the H100, there was a fellow that just posted one with his hand in front of it (let me find the link).
http://forums.audioholics.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38411

So if size would be a problem, I would suggest looking at the Martin Logan subs, or try Sunfire.

But for the price to performance ratio, my suggestion is clearly HSU.;)

There you go Halon, mazer has shown a great offer.
Small, sealed, decent power, should be easy to get by the wife.
Hard to pass that up, I certainly would say give it a shot.
Risk free (including shipping), is awesome.;) Normally you would lose shipping costs.

Good find Mazer.

did you piano gloss that HSU yourself?
LOL, no.
That is just a poor pic.
Let me find a better one...

If you are asking could I do that good of job, well not anymore due to disability, but yes I certainly could have done work like that (or better).
I'll have to find some pics of the yachts I painted, for you..

With the eD, I probably would do it exactly like the Rosewood HSU, with Piano Black top and bottom.

actually, I thought it was a nice piano gloss instead of the regular matte black of HSU

LOL, funny.
No, I'm talking about the real deal.;)

What did you think, I did, here in South Florida. :p

TOYS!!!! LOL.

EDIT;
I have some pics of it somewhere, but here is a listing of one that I had done some interior painting (also some topside repairs, etc...).
It was owned by Second City VP, Len Stuart.
