...would you care to enlighten us as to what your interest in this question is?
...you're eventually going to clue us in right? I know this is some kind of psych test, right? I guess our personality determines the bird?
I'm waiting for the kicker on this thread also...
Are we going to find out what our animals mean?
My goodness what an impatient bunch you are.
There really isn't anything much to tell. Yesterday, just as I was about to leave work I had a thought (you'd be amazed at the things that go through my head. Or, then again, perhaps you wouldn't at that...), turned, and asked my colleague "if you were an animal, what animal would you be?". Intrigued, he considered for a moment before answering "a cat" (big cat rather than domestic).
Asking the Forum, I wanted to discover a number of things:
1. Who would have the courage to reply to the question. Only someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously would do so and I am sure it is therefore of no surprise to anyone that Stratman first replied. Stratman alone gets credit for this as, after one person replies, any tendancy towards embarassment rapidly diminishes;
2. Who would reply at all. The susceptibility of the question to being answered is, I believe, highly dependant on the type of person reading it. I don't generally like to stereotype and I mean nothing ill by this but, though there are many reasons why perhaps he didn't, I would've bet money at the outset that, for example, Buckeye Nut wouldn't post;
3. Whether the abstract nature of the question itself would perhaps reveal something of the personality of those who answered it. Answering the question involves thinking outside of oneself and in doing so, any preconceptions will tend to be discarded. This makes any answer given of greater self worth than the answer to any 'normal' question. The downside, of course, is that the answer, in a 'purer' form if you will, requires interpretation on a far greater scale;
Some folk will read this and think what a load of gibberish. Some may not. The question originally got me to thinking that asking folk might provide an insight into their personality. I consider that it does. You must decide for yourself.
