10 Weeks for HD-DVDs

Out of curiosity I Emailed Toshiba yesterday and inquired how long it would take to get my 5 free HD-DVD discs.
The response I got:

"Due to the overwhelming response to our Free HD-DVD offer, it is taking longer than expected to fulfill your order."

OK, understandable, 90K units sold on Black Friday. But.....

"If you have not received your free HD-DVDs within 10 weeks, please contact the Fulfillment Center at 1-800-405-7520."

Fulfillment Center, I like that:rolleyes:

I think 10 weeks is a bit ridiculous.

They're free... Mine took about eight weeks but they got here. I too was beginning to wonder so I called Toshiba and they said they had shipped out two days earlier. The next day they were at my house.

The number is 800-403-3013

A woman I work with is still waiting for her five HD-DVDs after she bought her husband an A2 about 12 weeks ago. :( Two weeks ago she called Toshiba and they said they had her order and they would get it out quickly.

I bought an A3 on black Friday but none of the movies on the free list I like enough to go through the wait of getting them.

LOL, yeah my HD DVD movies have not got here yet. (~4 months, maybe longer, I'll have to check).
But BD side is no better, as it took them ~3 months for me to get those free discs.

Yes, you do need to call them to remind them that you are still in limbo:D
I did about 11 weeks out, called them, I was on the list to get it. 12 weeks gone buy, call again. OK, we'll expedite yours:D Yep it came a week later:D

Funny how the overwhelming demand only hampered their ability to give the free stuff & they didnt run out of players to sell:rolleyes:

Anytime i see free offers or rebates i take them with a grain of salt,if i get em i get em if not oh well.

Dude, you must have transposed a number or something. I tried that number and it's an attorney.

Hmmmm... Try this: 800-405-7520

That other number came from a forum found in a Google search. I don't remember where I found the number I called.

can you get me a time stamp on that one? i must have fallen asleep in many parts of the movie. :D
I think it's near the end of the movie; when she tries to seduce the cop. I found her story very compelling and sad. She wasn't smokin' hot, but she's very cute. Then again, I have a TOTAL Asian fetish so I'm probably not the most objective judge of beauty.

The key word here being F R E E. Pretty silly to complain about that. In the very worst case, you could sell them unopened...

Consider yourself lucky...it took AT&T SIX MONTHS and numerous calls to get me the $50 rebate they owned me...

Yikes, Lighten up guys.
I wasn't really griping about me not having the discs in my greedy little hands.
My point, although I didn't state it well, was my disdain for Toshiba's poor planning when they opened the flood gates with the sub $100 A2 players and didn't have the means to back up their free disc offer.
Yes, I know they are free and I shouldn't complain.

Now I feel cheap and dirty.

BTW. I called the lawyer's office too. The receptionist I talked to sounded kinda hot, and bewildered.

Guess you got lucky. The chick I got sounded like she was about 80 years old and has been smoking for about 70 of them.

I called yesterday, and they don't even have me in the system yet. Bummer.

I read that it has been approximately 10 weeks (supposed to be worst case) from the beginning of the offer, not because of demand. People have been complaining about it all along, but 8-10 weeks for something like this is certainly not out of the question.

Yeah. The rebate for my last phone took so long, I had forgotten all about it. I got a check in the mail one day and was like, "Oh yeah!!!"

Oddly enough, I got the rebate for my son's phone in just 2 weeks. I was truly surprised.
