I don't watch television, only DVDs.when watch normal television what mode do you listen in, 2 channel stereo or surround???
After a few days listening, the lack of the deepest bass (and the lack of "punch" in the midbass) started to bother me. I have ended up swapping things around again (Def Tech BP10s in the stereo, BP8s moved from surround to main duty in the HT, Polks as surrounds.) Since I already had some small bookshelves suitable for surrounds, I have essentially spent a chunk of money for no good reason (again!)I would prefer tighter bass over boomy bass anyday, even if it means less output. I can't stand boomy bass.
And live kick drums are tighter and less boomy as well, right?
No problem - off the top of my head, Tea for Two has some bass drum comping going throughout - I'll have to listen this weekend, to refresh my memory. I think the drummer is Sam Woodyard, and the bass drum has this really low fundamental pitch, with a funky sustain - sounds like calf heads on a big (24" or larger) bass drum. It really rounds out the whole band.Could you please list the names of the individual songs that have the best sounding kick drums?
Thanks.
Oh, yeah. Gotta have full range tower for stereo music. For HT, we can get by with a separate subwoofer. Or just get another pair of BP10s.After a few days listening, the lack of the deepest bass (and the lack of "punch" in the midbass) started to bother me. Why do I do these things? Why?Is there any way to stop being an idiot, money-wise?

I am afraid I have it worse than most. I have swapped again (KRK monitors in the stereo, BP8s as HT mains, Polks as surrounds, BP10s in the closet.) I am enjoying this arrangement, and will probably continue to enjoy it for a week or two until the urge to change it strikes again. At least I didn't spend more money this time.Oh, yeah. Audioholics. We are addicted to audio. Don't try to make sense of it. It makes us happy.

For now. As I said, I tend to change things, so I am sure they will be back out again eventually (if not, I could try selling them, but it would have to be local pickup only. Much too big and heavy for shipping.)What? BP10s in the closet?![]()
