Yeah, it turns out it's a pretty darn good deal, and a good set. I'm new to plasma (but a bunch of LCD's). Sorry to see they still have burn in issues, so I downloaded a dvd to break in the set for 250 hours. How nuts is that?
BEF: Do you have a link for that burn-in DVD?

Walmart update:

According to CNN:

At Wal-Mart (Charts, Fortune 500), the world's largest retailer, the so-called doorbuster deals between 5 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. will focus on limited-supply hot products including a Philips 50-inch widescreen plasma high-definition TV ($1397), RCA 46-inch widescreen LCD high-def TV ($1,196), Polaroid 42-inch widescreen 1080p LCD high-def TV ($798) and a Sanyo 37-inch widescreen LCD high-def TV ($847).

Some of Wal-Mart's other Black Friday promotions include an Apple 80GB iPod Classic ($247.88), assorted DVDs ($2.96), Dell Inspiron 1501 15.4-inch laptop computer ($598), Kodak 7MP digital camera ($89.84) and Xbox 360 arcade console system with 5 bonus games ($279.92).

In addition, Wal-Mart is selling Barbie Fairytopia Mermaid or Princess Ballerina Dolls ($5) and an Emerson Microwave ($25).

Anybody else located pretty far from a CompUSA? Maybe they are more prevalent in other parts of the country, but not so much here in KY. There are some great deals in the CompUSA ad, and I was excited about getting a new hard drive and a bluetooth headset until I looked to see how far the nearest CompUSA is to me since I'm working in rural KY for the next month. Yeah probably not going to drive 90 minutes and then risk coming back empty handed if they sold out quickly. Anybody have much experience going to such sales at CompUSA? Wonder how bad it could be or how much stock they will have on hand.

Circuit City FYI

Just an FYI, Circuit City has the Sharp Aquos 46" 1080p LCD for $1299 ($1200 off) 2 DAY SALE, not just Black Friday. This is a screaming deal on a set that just sold for over $2400.

The model no. is LC46D64U.

What this means is that you should be able to take this flyer and price match it anywhere, without management saying they don't price match Black Friday ads. It's a 2 day sale, not a Black Friday sale. :)

Also, the 52" 1080p version is on sale for $2199 (LC52054U), which is $1000 off.

This may be the best deal on a flat screen outside of the Samsung 50" 720p plasma and Sharp's 46" 720p LCD at this past Sunday's VIP sale for $984.

This deal is dead. I tried ordering one at 5 minutes after 10am (when it went on sale), and it wouldn't go through. I can't believe how quick they raised the price back up to $599. They must have sold out in the first 90 seconds. The deal at 10am looked like this:

I believe that CC official Black Friday ad comes out on Wednesday. So, you won't find evidence of it on their website until then.

Buy it now

Why can't I find any evidence of this sale on the Circuit city website? Can I purchase it online?
You'll see it in the Wed. or Thurs. paper.

If you want the set, buy it tomorrow at Sears and you'll save even more. Here's why:

Sears will price match CC's price of $1299, plus refund you 110% of the difference.
If you use a Sears charge card, that qualifies you for an extra 10% off via an online rebate.
This guarantees the set will be in stock since you've place an order early. I confirmed this with Sears this evening that they will price match a 2 day sale, but
not the door buster sale items. Now I go back Saturday afternoon for a price adjustment and pick up the set.

Best deal going this weekend, other than the Samsung 5044 I picked up at the Sears VIP sale out the door for $970.
